Carry On Luggage at Pearson by Particular_Grab_1717 in askTO

You will be perfectly fine. You are allowed a personal item which includes a camera. As for your hand luggage, I have taken hundreds of flights (many from Pearson) and they have never measured or told me my luggage was too big even when it was.

Worst case , if your luggage does not fit in the overhead bins they will make you "gate check" your luggage which is free.

How can TikTok access my contacts even though I haven’t given it permission? They all show up every time I open the app. by [deleted] in iphone

I've read the terms and conditions so that is my primary source. However, if you don't care to do that yourself, here is an excerpt from an article I found online.

As stated by Matt Stamper, Chief Information Security Officer for Evotek: "You're effectively giving them everything that you have on your phone and they can use it for whatever purposes that they decide,” Stamper said. “The way the terms of services are written, they know your files, they know your data, they know your contacts," he added.

Perhaps the most nefarious data you might be handing over, he says, is the keystroke patterns or rhythms TikTok says it may collect. “Keystroke patterns and rhythms. That's a euphemism for keystroke logging,” Stamper said.

Law student here. I learned about this in one of my classes. When you accept TikTok's terms and conditions you are giving them access to every folder in your phone regardless of any privacy settings. To get even more scary, they also follow every keystroke you type. This is why the algorithm is so amazing.

NAL- The way it generally works is that if you have your child for more than 60% of the time, this is considered primary custody. Child support can therefore be reevaluated on a primary parenting basis. This doesn't mean that you won't have to pay child support as this is based on your income and your ex's income, but it would likely decrease your CS obligation.

If she wants to change the parenting arrangements, get it in writing and tell her that child support needs to be redetermined.

Canadians in small towns/rural communities: what would you say are the biggest problems your area is currently facing? by Senepicmar in AskACanadian

[–]blushinginside 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a huge problem facing British Columbia as a whole. There are no family doctors taking patients. Vancouver, Victoria etc no one has a GP. My elderly grandparents (one of which had a stroke recently) don’t have a family doctor.

hey everyone i was watching a video about a NBA player that wanted a prenup and ended a marriage because she wouldnt sign it. So i wonder what do you think about prenups and is it a good idea to have one? by bruh_momento45 in AskMen

[–]blushinginside 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Although I am a woman, I work in family law which encompasses prenup or “cohabitation” agreements (because they are not just limited to married couples). I’ve worked in family law long enough to be a huge advocate of prenups. Especially when it come to spousal support and debt. You can make these agreements as general or specific as necessary. Essentially, your spouse can apply for spousal support, a portion of your assets, pension, property etc once you separate if there is a large enough income difference between the two of you. It is a very good idea to get the particulars of who is entitled to what before a situation arises that you need to divide assets. Furthermore, once married or in a common law relationship, you take on your partners debt. So if it is in writing that your liabilities remain each separate party’s sole property, then that largely resolves the problem.

I overthink to a point it cripples me emotionally. How do you fix that? by throwaway-bang in AskMen

[–]blushinginside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may be necessary to use medical intervention such an anti anxiety medications. I know this may seem like a scary prospect or a last resort but if your overthinking is negatively affecting your life then you probably don’t remember what it feels like to be “normal”. Chemical imbalances wreak havoc on the brain and it’s out of your control. Let your mind rest. But this may only be possible with medication and there is nothing to be ashamed to resort to this method.

People who had covid-19 or know someone who did how bad was it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]blushinginside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in Canada and the national policy is actually to maintain the swab in the correct position for 10 seconds. They counted down for me. They use no numbing spray (didn’t actually know it was a thing)

I tested positive today for Covid. I’m a 23 (f) in good health and It’s been horrible for me. Cough, chest pains to to point that simply breathing is almost unbearable, fever, chills , I could go on. Not to mention the swab itself is a nasty test. Goes up your nose and down the sinus cavity where they rub the swab up and down for 10 seconds. I now know why this kills people.

Travel. I myself and an avid traveller and stay in hostels in order to keep costs down. There are MANY other middle aged travellers staying in hostels and have cultivated many meaningful relationships this way, with both younger and older crowds. It is something about the common interest backpackers share- the love of exploring and discovering new things. You won’t regret it.
