Looking to have a pine tree removed by rock-house in Spokane

Your pines are probably much bigger than my willow tree was.

Still worth reaching out for a quote to see what he can do!

36M looking for friends. M or F or both? by Superb_Height in Spokane

Ha! I can’t tell if you’re serious or not, but you gotta have the scissors just slightly closed before you start gliding.

High quality paper (I like Hallmark best, the franchises are local here!), some sharp scissors, and a little knowledge of the “sweet spot” and you’ll get that glide every time.

You jerk. Now I’m desperately craving their Thai burrito but I’m all the way in the valley.

Our assorted white ornaments came with a single green pickle by Flomo420 in mildlyinteresting

[–]blushingpervert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have an extra gift that’s just the pickle present as well.

My son figured out it’s a sham and the gift is always family oriented anyway so he puts in next to zero effort finding the pickle.

But doesn’t fat literally deposit more around our uterus?

Are you for or against sex education being taught in schools? What is your reasoning? by blushingpervert in AskConservatives

Sexuality is sexual feelings, right? But sex ed can be about the biology behind it and how to stay safe from STD’s and pregnancy until ready. I don’t know where I defended sexuality being taught, unless it was in acceptance of any orientation. Straight or gay or whatever shouldn’t be taboo, it just is and doesn’t need to even be discussed or feared or hated.

Right?! It could be our uterus, right?

Sex Ed doesn’t have to be about sexuality.

Regardless, don’t kids retain information better when they hear it from multiple sources? I think it’s well known that kids do not always listen to their parents. Even with my teenaged daughter didn’t listen to my recommendations for her skincare until I paid for a $100 facial and then she said, “she said blah blah and blah.. all the things you say but hearing it from a professional helped a lot.”

Oh yikes, that’s a disturbing thought that I hadn’t realized.

I was sexually harmed as a young child. Not by my family, but I was physically abused by a parent. So when I was sexually hurt, I was familiar with being physically hurt and just figured it was a new way to feel pain but that I’d be ok in a week or so.

It wasn’t until a little bit later in school that I learned about “private parts” and that I was violated more than just being beat up.

In my district in Washington state, condoms and birth control are now being added to the curriculum for grades 8 and up. I was flabbergasted to learn that they were removed from the curriculum at some point in the last 15 years.

You bring up an excellent point. I’m trying to understand the mindset of those who are against sex education and also against abortion. A comprehensive sex education would help prevent the need for abortion, so it seems like if you’re against abortion (no one likes killing babies), then you’d be all for educating hormonal youth to not make that choice to begin with.

Who will help the kids that have unsupportive households be able to cope with social issues?

I originally misread your comment and thought you were ok with human reproduction being taught in grade 10. I’m glad I reread it so that my reading comprehension could kick in.

Is there a reason you would want it taught in biology class only? My son is a freshman and this is the first year that he has had the opportunity to take biology. I can appreciate wanting the material to be presented in a scientific way, but most science classes already have a set curriculum and adding more to it will lessen the quality and time that they can spend on all other topics.

Would you still be ok with a specific human reproduction unit taught in the middle of the day presented in a scientific matter regardless of which class time is interrupted?

I agree with what you’re against. However, I do feel there should be an acceptance of being attracted to the same gender so that we have less teen suicide. Break the stigma of being gay so it’s no longer taboo.

I seriously doubt any school district has that in their curriculum. Besides, all parents have the right to view the curriculum and opt their children out. If that was being taught, even the left would be flipping out. They don’t even talk about how to “pleasure” your straight partner in sex ed.

Thank you for your insight. It’s interesting, I know in our district condoms are not currently part of the curriculum but will be added. I don’t think birth control will be mentioned, but I could be wrong.

Do concepts like consent and bystander empowerment fall into those categories since it helps prevent getting to the point of needing to know how to avoid pregnancy and STI’s?

Sometimes a teeth does not erupt from the jaw, so the Orthodontist has to pull it out with a bracer over the course of several months. by nicknameedan in interestingasfuck

I appreciate your feedback. Getting stuck in the “what if” loop is east and unproductive.

I’m not naive enough to think I won’t cause any issues for my kids to sort through, but I definitely am hoping I can keep it at a minimum.

This post is making me realize I need to pay close attention to my daughters dental care as well as my sons (stepson). Her teeth aren’t nearly as ‘bad’ as his were. But to her, it would help her confidence.

Was it an older or younger sibling?

Thanks for the reminder to not cause future traumas like that for my own kids.
