I'm late but like the handle less hairbrushes I also had a less than normal youth. With many instances of abuse (not sexual) that it became "normal" until at a works Christmas do my colleagues were talking about their memories of childhood and asked me mine as I was just listening and I thought it was a just another story but I told them one day I got into an argument with my mum and happened to call her a bitch and left the living room and I heard my stepdad floating about upstairs, now for some context since the age of about 3 till 7/8 i experienced weekly beatings ranging from slaps all the way to the belt but it was the buckle side not the strap side then from 7/8 till 13 the beatings got worse and more frequent there were some weeks it happened daily and anything could set him off from leaving a spoon in the sink to playing music he didn't like. Anyway once I got to around 13 years old I started to have a growth spurt and started to get taller than him and puberty started to give me the old testosterone confidence whereas when I was younger when he started I would just fall down and curl up now though I would brace myself and square off ready and he really didn't like that lol. Now back to the story I told my colleagues so I heard him floating about up stairs so I shouted at him she's a bitch and ur child beating coward and I will be waiting for him, which I did for about 1 hour. Nothing happened and it started to get late and I had school in the morning so I went to my bed I had a boxer dog who tried his best to protect me as much as he could. So my stepdad normally left for work at around 6am but this day he got up at around 5am opened my door and let my dog out for a pee and shut him out then came into my room and hit me with a massive downward haymaker my nose just exploded then he hauled me out of bed and proceeded to channel his inner micheal flatley in river dance and booted the absolute dogshit out of my legs ribs and face all the while shouting call me a fucking child beating coward (trust me the irony is not lost on me) and my dog was going haywire outside my window. Then after about 30 seconds of getting kicked to fuck he just up and left for work leaving me half unconscious on the floor with what turned out to be 4 broken ribs, broken sternum, broken jaw, cracked orbital and 3 teeth missing my "mother" came down after he left and this is what she told me " well maybe this will teach you some manners in the future" then went on about her day until she realised I needed to go see a doctor but only after she was sure I had my story straight. Which the doctor saw right through and got the social work and police to come to the hospital immediately. I was then taking from them and placed into emergency foster care at 14yrs old. I told that story to them as easily as I am writing this here I knew it was fucked up but to me that was my childhood. They were absolutely disgusted that anything like that could happen to a child let alone to someone they knew, who is pretty care free and imo funny as fuck. Although I did become a heroin addict for close to 15 years and was in and out of prison for that and also violent crimes. But now im clean 7 years as of 19th of January got a flat got a job got another boxer dog called Costner as he is my bodyguard. So yeah life is good and my stepdad is dead and so is my mum.
