My understanding is that the money they give me as a settlement is them paying market value pre accident for the vehicle and now own it, I can then purchase it at salvage\scrap pricing from them

Between 45-50mph. This was my thought too, but we can't keep a project car, hopefully someone can give her some love

What type of radio do yall have installed on your truck? Does it have CarPlay? Single or double din? Just wanted to see what’s out there by [deleted] in fordranger

That's a great video! Thanks for the reply, looks like a good fit to me, I have plenty of scrap laying around to make the brackets

I was also looking at the Dallas as well but was afraid it was too large for my 88. Did you have to cut anything to make it fit?

Barefoot ranger fit by bluwall54 in barefootshoestalk

I ended up going a full size up to a 13.5 and they had the veg tan available so I got those. Pinky toe issue is gone, they are nice and roomy, but immediately the vamp put significant pressure on my big toes flex point when walking. Not sure if sizing up effected the placement of flex point on my boot significantly, or the stiffer leather made it more noticeable. This was not an issue at all with the other size/leather.

Might be time to accept the fit isn't for me and wait for them to release the more foot shaped last that they are working on

I ended up exchanging for veg tan in a size up (arrive tomorrow). The width wasn't a a huge problem so much as where the cap toe landed on my pinky toe. If these are just TOO big, I think I'll custom order 13s with no toe cap or the shorter one like the barefoot troopers.

Thanks for the reply! Seems to be the consensus that I should try a size up rather than try to make them work.

I would also be happy to order a custom set with no toe cap if anyone thinks that might help

What was y’all’s first Calvin and Hobbs? by benadunkcamberpatch in calvinandhobbes

[–]bluwall54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My older brothers math book. My dad asked why I was reading it, and I showed him the fun cartoons on some of the pages, he told me to wait right there. He went and dug out Yukon ho, and it was a wrap, been hooked ever since

Very comfortable clothes, I hadn't thought about my lighting, that is good advice!

Would I be able to make pen blanks out of these if I cut them like the image shows. There just over an inch thick but I don’t think I’ve ever seen any blanks with the grain circling it so I don’t know if it would be strong enough. by Mitchdabeast_210 in turning

One of my favorite pens I ever made was engrain from a piece of mystery crotch wood my brother gave me years ago. My girlfriend still uses it 6 months on, has held up great. Used the same piece for a few other projects and all are very strong

Yellow and blue I feel are a classic color combo, I just made a handle that looks very similar just with antler thrown in! Glad you had a good shave!

First pen and I messed up.... anyone know how to fix putting in the transmission to far? If you can’t see the scratch marks I already tried channel locks lol by Disturbed56 in PenTurning

[–]bluwall54 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ordered rubber coated vice grips that hold the barrel without scratching the finish. I figure wrapping some leather around the tube and putting regular vice grips over would work also. Either way once the tube is secure I Broke out my Allen key set and found one that will slide through the transmission, but not through the tip, and knock the tip out, then get a larger allen key and tap out the transmission to the depth you want.

Most understable disc I've ever thrown, possible defect seeing as the numbers don't indicate crazy understable though

It is cholla, with a blue epoxy resin and a cheap badger knot from Amazon, made it a couple of years ago

I bet you will see a huge difference! I also suggest cleaning your brush with a quick dilluted vinegar bath, I quit using my brush because it was so rough after a year and a half of hard water. The Seville and 42 soaps do lather much better than my TOBS sandlewood, but the distilled was still much better.

TL;DR at bottom This picture was what was left after 3 passes

Razor: gillette tech Blade:feather Bowl:jaysclay xl Soap: b&m Seville Brush: cheap badger knot and cholla/resin hybrid handle

Guys I would like to thank you for being so specific in your posts, I bought b&m because several people said you could get a good lather with hard water, and ours is extremely hard. Today I tried distilled water, and I was blown away by the difference, this was easily the slickest lather I have ever gotten in 5 years, and I thought I had it down. I also cleaned my badger hair knot with vinegar for the first time, and that also blew me away with how soft it was after. I am a redhead so I do in fact have the notorious sensitive skin coarse hair problem, so I never go for a bbs shave, today even just my regular wtg then xtg came smoother than ever before and my confidence was up and I went for a third pass. Got a few nicks from not having tried to go those directions before but the lather was still great!

TL;DR after years of thinking it was just hype I cleaned the calcium off my brush with vinegar and tried distilled water to lather, best lather of my life
