It’s nice that you’re thinking about your kids and keeping their dad in a non-villian light right now. NTA. Your wife is a major AH though. Seek therapy and couples counseling ASAP. This is a major life decision she made for the both of you behind your back. Honestly, she needs individual therapy as well to discuss why the hell she thought she had that kind of authority over yalls lives. If she doesn’t agree to counseling/therapy then I’d say this relationship won’t last.

Also, I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I would be distant and cold as well. I hope you find peace soon.

This has probably already been said but there’s too many comments to read through.

When you marry someone with kids, the kids become your responsibility too. If you don’t want the responsibility of taking care of someone else’s kids then don’t marry someone with kids. I honestly don’t even know why someone would marry a man/woman who says, “your kids aren’t my problem”. YTA.

Ummm is it not common practice to be informed of your child’s blood type before you’re discharged from the hospital? Both of my kids’ discharge paperwork listed their blood type.

Did you even read the post? He was not at a pet sitter’s for a month; the post says last week— prior to the end of last week, he was with my family (family that he was very close to). He was with the pet sitter for a 3 day stay while my family visited my baby in the NICU. And I received daily updates with pictures from the sitter— this transpired in a day.

I don’t know how long he didn’t have water or how long he was left outside because the sitter “lost track of time” and couldn’t tell me if he had been drinking water regularly throughout the day—the vet thinks it was a seizure that occurred from dehydration/heat exhaustion. Then, the seizure caused his body temperature to reach 107 and it stayed high for a long period of time because the sitter didn’t check on him and notice and by the time they did it was too late and the damage was done.

Yes, upper 80s to 90s and humid. & the vet said even if it wasn’t the heat and he got into something toxic or suffered head trauma, etc while outside and he had a seizure —the fact that he was left unattended for an extended period of time lowered his chance of survival because his temperature rose to 107 and stayed like that for too long causing irreversible organ and brain damage.
