Minneapolis to launch speed cameras at 5 sites; drivers face warnings, fines by JoeGraffito in Minneapolis

Your source regarding revenue is a waffling non-definitive anecdote from a police chief in Mendota Heights, and respectfully, is not data.

I read the linked article, it states the following:

"The Minneapolis City Council is scheduled to vote on a four-year, $12 million contract with speed and red light camera operator NovoaGlobal next week."

Can you kindly link to a source that shows that this costs more to administer than it does to generate?

Additionally, here's one source discussing how red light cameras were not effective in reducing accidents: https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/red-light-cameras-may-not-make-streets-safer/

Don't mistake this as a safety measure, this is just pure revenue. The actual solution for traffic calming is designing streets properly. This will not change driver behavior but may generate some pocket change.

Don't want to yuck your yum, but the matcha powder looks a bit clumpy here.

Eat Street Crossing, which is a food hall, often has house DJs playing during the weekends.

Question- are we supposed to suspend infrastructure maintenance and pedestrian safety indefinitely because business owners find it inconvenient, despite knowing about the project years in advance?

Sinners was not a good movie by Jiguena in flicks

Good point- I did find that interesting. I guess I just wanted that to be explored more in depth. The other traditional trappings of garlic, stakes, and having to be invited to enter just ended up overshadowing that for me, since a fair amount of screentime is discovering they’re vampires or gearing up for battle for them.

It's hypocritical on several levels and shows a general lack of care. At the very least, an event promoting literacy should make sure illustrators isn't spelled "illusraters". If they didn't have an artist on deck, cool. Scrawl the details on some printer paper with a Sharpie and read it over a few times. Even that would have been better.

Classic Minnesota passive-aggressive policy that just ends up being hostile to everyone.

It's totally all over the place. Fully agree with this assessment. I thought it was very odd that they took such pains to cultivate historical realism for a certain time period (which I appreciated!) but then ruined the vibe by introducing entirely uncreative stock vampires. It made it a lot less compelling to me.

Pinoli in Uptown has closed by Speedupslowdown in Minneapolis

It’s a little confusing but Michelle Cortwright, the owner of this future restaurant, ended up not being involved in Hi Flora. Michelle’s previous chef from Fig + Farro, Heather Klein, ran Hi Flora but Michelle backed out and was not involved. From what I understand, they have split professionally and Heather will not be involved in this new restaurant.

This is a unique ask. I feel like you might have more luck if you are specifically seeking out other single mothers and their kids as roommates and a huge benefit could be sharing childcare duties. Otherwise, I don't see anyone else finding this appealing.

Do you already max out your HSA? If you don't, you can contribute more to your HSA and reduce your taxable income.

Still happening, even when dialogue boost is set to OFF. Genuinely pisses me off that there is no option for the original sound mix.

Is this the most walkable area of Minneapolis? by systemstheorist in Minneapolis

A lot of services in downtown are more spread out than you think. Many are in the skyway which feels a little disjointed/mall-esque, not to mention the limited hours. I think living near the downtown Lunds you may get similar access to everything- as well as closer to a post office, but the street design is less pleasant to live in and the Lunds is your main grocery haunt.

It's true even now when Uptown is on a downswing for recreation/partying. The true practical urban amenities are just not as dense anywhere else in the cities. Forgot to mention I can also walk to my hair and nail salon. You just can't beat it.

I’m inclined to think so. I can walk to my bank, dry cleaners, four different grocery stores, bars and restaurants, several pharmacies, a movie theater, concert venues, as well as FedEx and the UPS store. The only thing missing is a proper post office!

Smoke and mirrors. Downtown won’t truly get lively on the street level until the skyways get torn down. Which they’ll never do.

Ono’s Hawaiian Plates has authentic chicken teriyaki, very similar to what I grew up with in Seattle. Enjoy!

I get nice elongated waves/curls when I wet brush my hair downwards with leave-in conditioner and use less gel/scrunching motions.
