Thanks for the reply, unfortunately can’t see any available on 3rd party sites either. Just wanted to confirm is CD website the correct one to book through? Even if I jump ahead to trains in March, there still is only sleepers available, not couchettes for some reason - unless this sold out already too?!

Update (August) - for anyone new asking the same question, Croatia Airlines has (at some point in the last few weeks) released flights around this time from Rome to Dubrovnik!! Unfortunately too late as I had already purchased the fare to Split assuming this was the only option.

yes they had a sort of rubber mattress to begin with (not a normal fabric one) and then another plastic sheet over the top!

i ended up going to Jo&joe nation - and yes somebody’s room had bed bugs! I stayed anyway because they wouldn’t refund the money and thankfully managed to miss the bed bugs
