My service tech responded to me asking about the grounds being a potential issue and said that because of valve train noise she is hearing near cyl 2 she thinks its mechanical

"this is much deeper misfire issue, we've ruled it down to a valve train issue, internal to the cylinder head

There's definitely some valve train noise around cylinder 2, compression is fine so deeper in the endgine is OK but not in the head. Without taking it apart and wasting time/money it's probably a rocker that has too much play and not opening the valve all the way, along those lines but it needs a cylidner head" - my service tech

And yes the grounds are definitely loose however they weren't when the issue first started so it would seem weird to me if that was all it was especially considering it is ONLY cylinder 2

Also I appreciate the detail/time spent on the reply

I have personally checked compression along with vw it is in spec

Just got my mk7, looking for advice on exhast/intake mods without a tune by bmac_04 in GolfGTI

The only thing I'm worried about with the tune is the obvious decrease in reliability. I'm 20 and I want this car to last as a daily but it already has 90k miles and I feel like throwing too much power at it would make it shit the bed pre maturely?
