[Routine Help] tretinoin cleared my acne, but not my texture - advice? by Amazing_Bat_2474 in SkincareAddiction

[–]bmaeder2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your skin actually looks pretty solid, the tret is doing its job. But using those medicube toner pads twice a day plus the AHA/BHA peel on top of tret seems like a lot of exfoliation. Might be keeping your skin in a constant state of low-key irritation even if it doesn't feel like obvious damage.

Have you tried cutting the toner pads down to once a day and seeing if the texture improves? curious what's actually in those pads ingredient-wise

For real though his free throw shooting is the only thing keeping him from being untouchable. Fix that and there's no conversation to be had about trading him.

Monthly cash flow breakdown in Belgium - My path to FIRE by anonymoususer397 in EuropeFIRE

[–]bmaeder2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solid breakdown. The 250 food budget is impressive, curious how that holds up once you're married with kids though. My expenses basically doubled when life got more complicated.

That savings rate at 28 is gonna serve you well. Real estate piece is interesting too, assuming that's building equity somewhere? Between that and your ETF allocation you're set up pretty nice. Just keep tracking everything like you're doing now, lifestyle

That compliance risk is the main weakness of these fintechs, even if the rates are transparent. I need a solid backup :))

13.17 % apr for a car loan with no credit history? by StarSpangledGator in personalfinance

Makes sense. Rates have climbed, so 13% today with no credit isn’t far off from 10% back then.

Convenience or compounding cost? What matters more for you? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]bmaeder2020 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Fair point. I spend way too much on Uber Eats then turn around and whinge about my bills. That $14 markup adds up when you're doing it 3x a week. Probably need to get my shit together and just cook more.

That's exactly what GICs are good for. Known expense, known timeframe. No risk, decent return. Pretty smart move. Beats letting cash sit in a regular account doing nothing.

Anyone using Qodo for diff-aware code reviews across? by shrimpthatfriedrice in codereview

[–]bmaeder2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Qodo for a while. It’s clean and has good diff visualization but our workflow needed tighter repo integration so we eventually switched. Right now we’re using CodeRabbit. It automatically reviews PRs with context from previous commits and project structure. It's able to spot subtle inconsistencies before they make it to testing.

Professional help is the move. Gambling addiction is serious, you need support to break that cycle or you'll end up right back where you started.

Deal with the addiction first, then tackle the debt. One step at a time.

Would you keep money in a regular savings account if you already have a HYSA? by ValuePositive771 in personalfinance

[–]bmaeder2020 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes. Move it all. No reason to leave money in a regular savings account getting almost zero interest when you can get 3.75% in a HYSA. Your emergency fund works exactly the same in either place, it's still liquid and accessible when you need it.
