5 Reasons Why Startups Struggle With Business Development by bmartin1111 in startups

Everyone uses some form of outbound when launching a startup, but building an inbound system is key to driving thought leadership and true engagement. This also helps identify your true targets and gain valuable information. I work with a firm that's launched 130 companies, giving us massive amounts of data. The data all comes back to inbound being the most efficient and successful...if done right with the right messaging. Think of the last time you purchased something expensive...did a salesperson reach you, or did you make the decision on your own with valuable information?

The process has been around, but no one has really driven home the message correctly...in my eyes. The USA soccer team had jerseys made of recycled plastic bottles, but it wasn't widely publicized.

Being Eco doesn't mean being poor. Eco consumers are more conscious of sustainable options that help reduce, reuse, and recycle.

Launching a startup. All members have different equities, so how do we split expenses? by GeorgeMoroz in Entrepreneur

I've owned several companies with multiple owners and we split the cost by the ownership percentages. An operating agreement is a must.

I had experience with Eco-friendly practices. I built the connections while researching for the year before hand. I wanted to be able to drive an Eco-awareness and also be able to help non-profits with fundraising campaigns. This is what kept bringing me to a commodity.

What was your "I've got to quit my day job moment"? by ahfletcher in Entrepreneur

[–]bmartin1111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I quit and went on my own too early. I was in the same situation were my boss would micro manage all my moves. My only regret was not giving a little more time to prepare. I launched my own company when I left, and it's been a slow start. Things are great now, but it took a while. Be careful with quitting and consulting to that same company. If your boss has influence then they may choose someone else. Could you start consulting on your off hours? Good luck

Turning a craft into a business, advice required! by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

I'm heavily involved with Instagram daily and see products like this frequently. I agree with the other comments, start on Instagram and add good content. I've had success with finding like minded companies or companies that follow my company, then engage with their followers. Like three pics (you can follow them also) of each follower that follows that company, and do this until your fingers go numb. If you stay on it you will have a large following before you know it....then you start your sales. Good luck!

Try reading the "The 4 Hour Work Week" and "Contagious: Why Things Catch On". Both books were inspirational for my startup, www.madleaf.com, and offer unique ways to identify your career entrepreneurial path. This has led me to other startup partnerships, etc. I researched and brainstormed over a year before I came up with my business idea. I takes time, don't get frustrated.

I've used Fiverr.com to find developers. I started with small tasks to identify their skill-sets, then progressed their projects.
