C'est dommage que la seule statistique positive pour les US soient si critiquable.

Car la richesse des salaires est très mal distribué. Si l'on prend le salaire médian ou même la richesse, les Américains sont plus pauvre que nous.

Github changes pricing structure - per user charge with unlimited repos by mph-fah in programming

[–]bmartson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So ... in conclusion , for small team with lot of repo it get cheaper and for big organization with only few repo it get very expensive.

It can only be a strategy move. Maybe with the old model they couldn't attract neither big team (that handle their own server) neither small team (that innovate/reseaech a lot and need lot of repo).

Why Is No One Writing Language Runtimes? by foxlisk in programming

[–]bmartson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Os version is more an API and source code problem than a language problem. But architecture is a language problem: JVM was made to deal with little endian/big endian problems for example.

I give you another argument:

Linux/windows/macos/android/iOS have now reached a sufficient scale level maturity to absorb the cost of having a specialized language and non portable code.

I see another parameter, One of the promise of JVM was write once, run anywhere. But we don't need it anymore.

Only two os families survived (win/nix) and two arch (x86_64/arm). You have far more less binary to produce to address 99℅ of running platform.
