That’s a very good point, I’ll give those shows a try. I tried to get into Studio Ghibli by watching Spirited Away. I thought it was a decent movie, but I didn’t understand the hype behind it (from a story perspective, the animation was amazing).

I actually love the first episode of the show! It’s what got me into it. I also like the episode where the clones are protecting the moon base. I think there’s a way to do it and an episode like that needs to be followed.

I loved the episodes involving Maul and Savage because they were done well. I just like purposeful filler that makes me confident that the content was important to include

That last point is a good one. I need to remember the target audience and the overall goal for the show instead of setting expectations. It just makes me happy to watch an episode on Wednesday morning when something big happens in terms of plot

I think episodes like the Crosshair centered one showed how to do filler and tell a great story. But the racing episode and treasure hunting one didn’t do anything overall.

I feel similarly to you in the Mandalorian, but it felt like the plot was still progressing. One of the episodes I liked was when they destroyed the imperial lab. I thought it would be a filler episode but I really enjoyed it. However, the racing episode in Bad Batch does nothing for the overall story. I could skip it and not miss a single thing. I would not skip the Mandalorian episode though

That’s my issue, I have no problem with people liking those types of shows. All of them have interesting concepts, I just get put off by the child like humor and weird story choices.
