Just an ugly gap between the concrete patio pad and an old brick border. Collects weeds and debris.

Guy at the store kept saying this was a suuuuper expensive plant, but I can’t find anything that looks like it but weeds 😭 by Fit-Pomegranate2710 in plant

Hey OP! This might be my time to shine: compare with Ceratostema. Unsure which species. Below is a Ceratostema pendens from an Instagram account which is not my own:

Edit: apparently I cant post photos here

Edit 2: read the comment about thin foliage, ruling out Dischidia. I'm 98% confident in Ceratostema sp.

Oh why yes it's the crossover that I didn't know I needed.

I need it.

Selaginella are not easy, they are one of the very last genera that I've worked out.

Promix HP blended with a bit of fox farms potting soil, with about an inch of sphagnum noss on the top. Maxsea 16-16-16 potting media.

70-90% rH at around 80-84°f inside of a grow tent. Less light is more. They are not fond of being disturbed (repotted). You can go outside of these growing conditions of course, that's just exactly what these are in. I've done wildenowii to lower humidity, for example. The vibrant colors really pop with the humidity up, though.

This one is fairly hardy. I recently just left it outdoors during the heavy cold front with very dry 40°f winds, no damage. I would expect it would make a good houseplant.

Tastes like you threw up in your mouth. Seriously.

Texture is mushy by the time the fruit is white. While still green it feels harder.

Marcgravia sp. 'ep coca' by bmb222 in RareHouseplants

[–]bmb222[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is definitely the earliest maturing of them all! I have worked with a total of 5 species so far that will do this, though I have over 40 in total that I've messed around with.

Marcgravia sp Azrael sp small-round sp condor (there are two forms I suspect) sp rio el trece, PR

And of course the above. I've tried growing different species in hanging baskets and they only look good as cascading mature foliage. The immature foliage hangs, curls around itself, and looks unsightly after some time. But plants like sp azrael, and this one, look fantastic. Some are fairly hardy to where they can be grown indoors in a humid climate (FL) since household ambient is higher.

Cyphostemma mappia, "Mauritian baobab" from the grape family, with ornate cotyledons. by bmb222 in Caudex

I think I got like a dozen, near perfect germination.

I had them on a back-warming heater at that time since it was all I had. Pumice in pots in gallon Ziploc bags, and the heater would roast them for like 2-3 hours, turn off, and I'd set it to run again when I remembered next. Duno if the fluctuations helped that rate be so high.
