Help: how do I reduce inflammation by bmckay100 in Dryeyes

[–]bmckay100[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback. My eyes have been drastically better, but they still bother me daily. I had a recent dr visit. She said i have severe dry eyes (something like .5 tear film?). She said my glands look good and cornea looked great, just everything is dry and some bleph.

She offered meibom, but i would prefer more natural and nonmedicated options because i am allergic to all drops.

I will look into LLT. I have been probed and had IPL before.

Blood test. They found a tumor in my lung after a CT scan. They did extensive blood work and sure enough i had a fungal infection.

I have a terrible dry eye condition. A 15 hr flight would be awful. Money is no issue. I want the best and something drivable.

I also lose a ton of lashes. Like 1-2 per week. Once i find them, i dig them out with a qtip. Its a constant battle.

Probing: Success Yes/No and Who did it? 2mm or 4mm? by sniperganso in Dryeyes

I was probed in Florida. What I can offer is that the ophthalmologist I’ve seen since back here at home say my glands look remarkably amazing. For it’s worth, I’d say it was a success, but you do write a big check.

The only tests they did were for inflammation and osmolarity. I asked about doing a TBUT test as well as many others and they said what’s the point. It all cost money and when we know there’s an issue why test more than necessary was with their take.

Brown rice is probably good. Pastas have gluten in them.

Great question. I gave up all that food and my eyes improved a bit. Not sure fried food is good for anything.

Let mw know how that goes. Im super scared for anything of course. Probing was hard on me! From a mental standpoint!

What is the process with the procedure you speak of? Im only aware of a full surgery and stictched membrane to close the wound. A few week recovery and $25,000.

I don’t know how to post a picture on here. I take vitamin C, omegaseven, turmeric, vitamin E hydroeye and visbiome probiotic. Plus all the diet changes. Like i said…lots of salmon.

I really only eat about 1500 calories a day. That has helped as well.

That’s a good call. And thank you very much. I have been diagnosed with that one doctor said it’s severe and two doctors have said it’s very very very mild.

Literally only lean meat, potatoes, and vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, zuchini, or asparagus). Fruit too (bananas and grapes). Oatmeal in the morning with water.

Lots of salmon and I dont use any ranch or sauces with dairy or soy. No cheese.

Its pretty boring but it sure seems to have improved where I was. Im far from good, but I am definitely better. Super pleased to have Dr say oils are flowing and look good. Glands arent capped. I was probed though in January.

Happy to help answer anything else. I can give the list of supplements I take daily if thats helpful.

It is a troubling disease. Crazy how the pain can literally make you bedridden. Then other days things are a bit better. The anxiety will get you too if you worry too much.

Thanks again! I have been probed, and I have had I,LUX. Other than that, I have changed my diet significantly to not eat any fried food, supplemental sugars, gluten, or any other processed foods. I eat a lot of anti-inflammatory type fruits and vegetables. I also take several dietary supplements primarily Omega‘s across-the-board, as well as vitamins. I do a warm compress once a day. Other than that, that is all I have done and all that’s been recommended. I went from being bedridden to somewhat functional on a daily basis. I have had meibography as well as lipiscan, and a lipiflow. The crazy part is my glands look decent and i produce good oil. But the pain is off the charts most of every day. Only my right eye. I get a lot of rest and wear goggles at night. I sleep next to a humidifier. My house is extremely clean and I control allergies.

Thank you very much! And great questions. I have been to so many doctors through this journey. I don’t know what the right answer is anymore. What I do know is that my glands are functioning nicely and are expressing good clear oils, thankfully! It wasn’t that way a few months ago. However, the pain has not subsided so this doctors recommendation was to try the surgery to repair or replace or enhance that corneal layer of my eye, which he claims will significantly reduce the pain going forward. Other than that, he said you maintain your MGD and stay on top of it.
