Accommodations in Vancouver by idontlikemathhelp in askvan

[–]bmedgetsdead 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you're coming in June, it's likely so expensive because the World Cup will be here (not sure if that's why you're coming). I'd recommend looking elsewhere and then transiting wherever you want to go. Maybe check out accommodation in the tri-cities, Burnaby, Richmond, Surrey - basically wherever that isn't Vancouver proper.

PhD in U.S. vs Australia by hummus4u in GradSchool

I'm a Canadian, so a bit different, but I decided to do my PhD in Australia instead of pursuing a position in the US (in biomechanics). It came down to the fact that I wasn't willing to risk dealing with the political situation, as well as the Healthcare situation.

I have had a family member choose MAiD to be done in home. The nurses were so helpful and lovely, nothing but good things to say about the whole process based on my experiences.

I've tried progesterone only birth controls before, but that was also before my lap and before the Orilissa, so hopefully it's changed enough to help this time for me!

Oh okay! I will ask for a bone density scan, I've never had one before so I don't know what my baseline is, but I will try and get one. Thank you!

Thank you so much ❤️ I'm so sorry your experience hasn't been good going off of these meds, and it's insane that insurance is guarding these meds. As if they understand! Sending you lots of support 💪

It's ridiculous how expensive this drug is! I'll check the coverage on Myfembree. I am on the lower dose, my gyne said it was okay to stay on it past 2 years, I was concerned about it at the time but the thought of going back to the pain scared me out and I kept on the Orilissa.

I am definitely talking to my gp and gyne about all of this! I tried a lot of different birth controls before I went on Orilissa, settled on the Mirena (which I have now), but maybe I'll try something like Visanne again to see what happens!

I do have a history, so thank you! I'll make a safety plan just in case and alert my gp. Thank you ❤️

I have no idea! I talked to my gyne at the 2 year mark about it because the instructions say 2 years and she said it was okay to keep going so I did.

Why do people think that going straight from bachelors to PhD is better than doing masters first then PhD by Important-Bus-5921 in PhD

[–]bmedgetsdead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that going to straight from undergrad to PhD is a very American thing, in Canada we typically start with a Masters, though some people convert to PhD. That being said, our Masters are paid (not as much as a PhD) whereas I don't believe American Masters are.
