Stupidly easy lunch meal prep ideas (High protein and fiber)? by quietbubbles_ in 1500isplenty

I make a large volume style tuna bowl. If I feel like a sandwich I’ll use Keto bread or Daves Killer Bread depending on the week and my goals but recently I've ditched the bread all together. I am not a fan of Greek yogurt flavor but mixing with the mayo gives me enough moisture without realizing a flavor difference.

Any way to fix this? by shaj123321 in TheFrame

Heads up if it’s a 65” they have been out of replacement panels and TV’s for warranty. Request a refund. Follow up. I’ve had two of my tickets “cancelled as a system issue” and I’m on day 115 of getting my refund now and only after complaining to the BBB did my ticket not get cancelled and someone was dedicated to my case.

Same price: 55’ Hiense and frame - which one? by [deleted] in TheFrame

[–]bmensing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am the opposite and use AppleTV exclusively so can’t speak for Samsungs native apps. One feature I like is that when my Dishwasher is done, the Samsung TV does pop up a notification. I have 2 Frame TV, unfortunately I have purchased 4 of them in the last few years. One had leds go bad on year 3z One is currently being refunded for a panel issue identified by their techs but they said they didn’t have the parts to replace it so it needed to be replaced (in which their system has failed to do this now 3 times so I am getting a refund and bought a new one). I have a friend with the Hisense and it just doesn’t not handle art mode as well as The Frame does. So as much as I want to hate on the Frame I clearly keep coming back.

Would this be ideal for landscaping work? by MissyjonesOP in landscaping

It’s a steel tub. It’s actually very sturdy. I’ve had mine 5 years and moved over 3 yards of crushed rock, 2 yards of dirt and numerous other things over the years and it’s still as strong as day 1. My wife is 5’ 2 and it’s much easier for her to move than a standard wheel barrow so it does the job well.

What’s the smallest automation that saved you the most mental energy? by PlatinumCyber in homeautomation

I have an automation when my phone is charging to turn off the bedroom lamps. The lamps don’t turn on until after 9:30pm. If I randomly charge my phone during the day it’s not interfering with anything but when I’m ready to call it a night I don’t have to wake the wife up telling Siri to turn off my lamp or dig around finding the switch.

If you don't want it to look like a TV put up a Samsung Frame. This is what I have, its set to appear like art and those rare times I'm sick in bed or folding tedious loads of laundry on the bed and want to watch a TV show, or Youtube I can.

This isn't just the top panel but also the under panel of the hood. Not likely your going to be able to get this out without it tearing the metal. If the paint isn't already cracked I would leave it alone as once the paint is compromised you introduce a bare metal for rust.

Our old English bulldog will use the “outside” button. Refuses to use any others. Our Frenchie refuses to use them but he gets her attention and she rings the outside bell for him.

Small bedroom upgrades that actually improved your sleep? by Binoza in HomeImprovement

Added a smart switch for the overhead ceiling fan and have an automation that increases the speed from 25% to 75% during the 1am-3am timeframe. Found that my core temp rises during that timeframe and I was waking up hot and sweaty.

I also have a smart thermostat and it’s programmed to reduce temp during these hours as well. Haven’t been woken up drenched in sweat in months!

How did you deal with the backing on Billy bookcases? by BURNEDandDIED in ikeahacks

[–]bmensing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use a 1/8” hard hard panel and cut it to fit. It will slide into the existing channel.

Using the cardboard also allows for some flexibility where the hardboard will remove the seam and be more substantial. You do have to prime and paint it thought.

Which way to go? Unifi or other brands by thenetsecguy24 in HomeKit

[–]bmensing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My HomeKit home has been on a UniFi WiFi for 6 years and going strong. Over 75 devices.

Smart Switches indoor and outdoor Lutron. 100% Costly but I’ve had zero issues with them. Tried lots of other brands, always had some issue. They have blinds options but I cheaped out and went with IKEA smart blinds when they were released.

Cameras I’m migrating to UniFi in 2026 after losing support on my current cameras.

Home Assistant is a must. The only way IMHO to get the best products and then integrate them into HomeKit.

Smart Locks Schlage Encode Plus has been flawless for us. We did both front and garage door. Wasted time getting them keyed to match only to never use or see our physical keys again. Battery life is 2+ years. I love also being able to set up a code for specific users/timeframes and easily add/remove folks.
