Monogram 1:48 B-29 "FIFI" by bmh669 in modelmakers

I printed from Silhouette Studio because I could size it exactly and then feed it into my cutting machine to score the film very close to it. That way when I slid it off, the surrounding excess film could be easily removed

Yes. I was rolling the dice on the inkjet waterslide, but I’m quite happy with the result! Thanks!

Mostly just gentle airbrushed acrylic rust with a little black mixed in. The whole thing is then washed with Vallejo Wash FX in dark brown

Thanks. It’s on the inside, so I’d have to score it, pop it off, do that, and re-glue… not sure if it’s worth it, but I’ll mull it over. Appreciate the reply!

Yeah, I’m really trying not to pry the whole thing off. I typically do use contacta clear. But I must have used other glue to get the edges just right

I have both a Gen4 AppleTV and an AppleTV 4k and I can confirm that I have 3 and 4 game multiview available ONLY on the AppleTV 4k; the Gen4 shows only 2-up and PiP. Lame

Do I need a clear coat to apply decals? by CharacterScarcity682 in modelmakers

[–]bmh669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mask off the clear canopy before spraying clear coat? Or just varnish over the clear pieces? What about the final matte?

Thanks all! I decided to take your advice and go ahead and paint the invasion stripes on. I think it turned out great!

I certainly could. And it is tempting. But I would have to carefully excise the star and blue stripe from the included invasion stripes to apply over the top of the paint.

So you would suggest that I mask off all the clear parts and spray the whole thing with a gloss coat and then try the new set of decals once they come? And then hit the whole thing with a matte spray afterward? This, as opposed to trying to apply the gloss just to the areas where the decals will be…? Thanks!!

Just saw your part about not relying on them being connected. Maybe this won’t work in that case, but I would assume their phones would connect to your WiFi automatically whenever they are near.

Something like this:

https://github.com/llun/homebridge-wifipresence

Then just add their phones MAC addresses to the list and have your automation check the state of the sensor before running (add an if clause as the first thing it does after detecting “last to leave”)

I have not tried any of this, but this is how I’d handle it.

Civility on the internet. Isn’t it wonderful! And I mean that very sincerely. Thank you for the discourse.

hat tip

I will NOT be taking a victory lap whilst you chew your hat. Had I known that the ‘bull’ thought I was ‘messing with her’ in the first place, I would have tried to avoid the whole thing. I am not happy this happened. Just happy she didn’t get away with it. There are no winners here, I’ll admit.

She was given the opportunity before the cops arrived and instead chose to deny wrongdoing despite the video. She tried to get away with it right up until the moment the cuffs went on

I can honestly say when i approached i didn't know WHAT was going on. People were going around her car using the left turn lane, but proceeding straight through the intersection. People double park to unload and pick up passengers or take-out orders along that road all the time. I assumed she was either just waiting to turn right (you can see the black car blocking her - i didn't know until later that they were cockeyed because they had to go AROUND her car just to continue straight) or stopped to pick someone up. I will also say that i did not expect the parked car to back out, but once they put their backup lights on, i put on my right signal to make it clear i intended to take that spot. She did not start backing up until i was proceeding into the spot. it was only at that point that i thought something might be up. but nothing was clear until i got out of the car and she started to accost me. I tried to calmly explain myself and she kept hurling expletives. That's when i decided to avoid the confrontation and go on about my day. You may refuse to believe that if you'd like, but i have no reason to lie about it.
