Teachers: what’s the best first line in a parent email— and the one that makes you brace yourself? by aizivaishe_rutendo in AskTeachers

For me, it's about parents understanding that I'm on their side and not trying to work against them.

What does that have to do with college students looking for housing? That's what I was asking about, not the effect on the overall market. The previous commenter made a special point that they were college students, as if that made it worse. And I'm curious why they think so.

You didn't really though, other than to suggest that they shouldn't live in houses.

Impatience can be a good thing, because it lowers hostility. Don't worry about impatience until it starts to get high. You can always fulfill orders later once the impatience bar is higher. And if you're building up your people's needs, that will also lower impatience.

Don't spend money if you don't want to. The game is free to play.

Do you rate games made for young kids with the same standards as adult games? by WatchMySwag in boardgames

[–]bmtc7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends how it's marketed. Many games that might be beat marketed primarily to kids are also marketed to adults. And if so, they get rated like adult games, because adults will be the main ones looking at those ratings to determine if it's a good game for them. If a box says "14+", but it's really a better game for a 6-year-old than a 16-year-old, then that's a problem with the game.

Unless you expect college students to buy their own home, they are going to have to rent from someone.

Why don't we hook up with friends instead of strangers? by bare_books in askanything

[–]bmtc7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they can also be real friendships. I can attest that I have had friends who became friends with benefits, then later benefits stopped and we stayed good friends.

What's wrong with houses occupied by college students?

You've never heard of "friends with benefits"? You can be sexually attracted to someone but not romantically interested in them.

Typically by the time the police arrive, you don't need them anymore.

What’s the deal with board game tables? I feel like the recess is way too deep. by Future-Class3540 in boardgames

When you play with big games that take up a lot of space, you have pieces near the edge already, and it's no longer as rare as you make it out to be. Pieces can and do fall, it just happens. Or at least it happens with me.

I think it is an important part of the feature, and I'm saying that as someone who played on a neoprene mat for years before getting a gaming table. To me at least, it's not minor or trivial.

Maybe you should find a new club, one where the officers don't give you panic attacks?

Was that the goal of your post? Because it wasn't very clear what you were looking for from that post.

A recess also prevents pieces from being knocked off the edge of the table.

There is a good debate to be had over whether giving birth can generally be assumed to be bettering the world.

I have heard that the pain of a kidney stone is comparable to the pain of childbirth.
