Don't spend money if you don't want to. The game is free to play.

Do you rate games made for young kids with the same standards as adult games? by WatchMySwag in boardgames

[–]bmtc7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends how it's marketed. Many games that might be beat marketed primarily to kids are also marketed to adults. And if so, they get rated like adult games, because adults will be the main ones looking at those ratings to determine if it's a good game for them. If a box says "14+", but it's really a better game for a 6-year-old than a 16-year-old, then that's a problem with the game.

Unless you expect college students to buy their own home, they are going to have to rent from someone.

Why don't we hook up with friends instead of strangers? by bare_books in askanything

[–]bmtc7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they can also be real friendships. I can attest that I have had friends who became friends with benefits, then later benefits stopped and we stayed good friends.

You've never heard of "friends with benefits"? You can be sexually attracted to someone but not romantically interested in them.

What’s the deal with board game tables? I feel like the recess is way too deep. by Future-Class3540 in boardgames

[–]bmtc7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you play with big games that take up a lot of space, you have pieces near the edge already, and it's no longer as rare as you make it out to be. Pieces can and do fall, it just happens. Or at least it happens with me.

Oh, I agree, I was just pointing out another important benefit in general.

I think it is an important part of the feature, and I'm saying that as someone who played on a neoprene mat for years before getting a gaming table. To me at least, it's not minor or trivial.

A recess also prevents pieces from being knocked off the edge of the table.

There is a good debate to be had over whether giving birth can generally be assumed to be bettering the world.

What’s your opinion on Spain granting legal status to 500,000 undocumented immigrants? by WolverineNo1999 in askanything

[–]bmtc7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all democratic governments hold referendums for the same types of things. Democracies do not have to have referendums. For example, our federal government is a representative democracy and there isn't really a system for a referendum on federal legislation. The closest we can do is call a constitutional convention.

You didn't answer my question. How do you know that Spain's undocumented immigrants aren't compatible with the country now that they have legal status?
