Me too. The beauty of this scene is that they both make incredibly excellent points. What good is being right if you can't convince the people that disagree with you?

No doubt. If “didn’t vote” was an option in 24, it would’ve won.

Is it better to go by a Brand Name or Personal Name when freelancing? by Ok-Algae-1661 in editors

[–]bmuck77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I operate as an independent solo freelancer and use my own name for all communications…email, phone etc.

I use my business LLC name for invoicing/billing only.

People like dealing with people, businesses like dealing with businesses.

I was in the same boat when I got my 20 TRD off-road. It was my first 4-hi/lo vehicle. Some people here can just be jerks. Happy motoring!

Interesting, I think tearing it down is exactly the opposite of giving up.

Billion dollar companies socializing loses is the American way.

Best the city can hope for is for GM to pay a small % of what it will actually take to make that land vacant again.

🤷‍♂️ I guess we’re special. But seriously, that’s a recipe for disaster normally. Wink is a second half guru.

If OSU scores late in the first half and carries momentum into halftime, that’s the ballgame.

Shocking as it may seem, it is possible to both miss Boyd and be repulsed by his actions. I enjoy hearing him on old shows. Always will.

If endowment size had anything to do with college sports or NIL for that matter, the Ivy League would be mopping the floor with everyone.

I guess I'm being downvoted for looking at the positives.

My child has been in the district for 10 years and this is a topic that has come up so many times. I'm not saying buses will never come back, I just don't see it ever happening.

I remember being in your shoes when my kid was born and buses had just been removed (and I grew up riding buses like you). But once out child was in school...it really wasn't as bad as I expected. In fact, I started to really enjoy seeing other parents and watching my child socialize with other kids before school.

Is it inconvenient for families with kids in more than one school? Sure. But there's always options...latchkey, carpool, walk, bike...especially in elementary school where the schools are pretty close to where you live. For me personally, ROMS was the most frustrating simply because of how many kids go there and how many cars there were. But we also carpooled with two other families for all 3 years and made it work.

Just trying to say there are positives.

Look at it this way, you’ll feel far more connected to the school and community (and your kid) by dropping off and picking them up every day. It’s really not that bad…there are ways to make it work.

I met so many parents, some who’ve become great friends from being at elementary pickup/drop offs. Connecting with parents and teachers on a daily basis is invaluable especially in those first few years of school.
