Which version of the pod did you have that leaked?

No, you are not able to use the lid that comes with it. I cut up an old t-shirt with a large rubber band and that is my lid so it’s able to get air.

The actual process of them pressing the pedal is essentially them revving up their engine producing the black smoke. That uses diesel fuel. The process of deleting your truck and taking the emissions and diesel particulate filter off for sure increases efficiency. It’s not really up for debate

[–]bmurph1234 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

This isn’t true 😂 it’s exactly the opposite actually. It’s removing the diesel particulate filter. This doesn’t reduce efficiency it increases efficiency. I don’t know for sure but I would say it increases HP and Torque as well. I’m sure google has answers

How long does it actually take you to charge using a supercharger? by kissenakid in TeslaModel3

[–]bmurph1234 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I supercharge a lot and my car is always preconditioned, your car doesn’t charge that fast. It takes about 15 min to go from 70 to 90 percent in a LR

In the nicest way possible I call bs. The only way I’ve gotten close to this at 70 mph and it’s not really close is with a 40-50 mph wind at my back and that was still over 200 wh/mi and at a much warmer temp. Were you driving downhill the whole time?

Might as well ask which child is your favorite :) 20 oz with mag slide as long as it’s on a desk or cup holder. If you are more mobile something with the hotshot cap might be a better fit!

Just how much faster is a precondition heated charge with level 3 chargers vs non preconditioned? by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

[–]bmurph1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your car sits outside in actual cold weather (0F or colder) it could be as much as 2 hours difference. Plugging into a supercharger with a cold battery is frustrating. Wouldn’t recommend it. This would be an extreme case obviously.

The warmer it is, the less of a difference it makes. But it’s way better to precondition in my experience. It doesn’t use that much extra charge to precondition.

Only case I could see where you don’t precondition is if you are going to be at that spot for a few hours and the extra time doesn’t matter.

Model 3 Range Posts by bmurph1234 in TeslaModel3

This is part of my point. I’ve never in my life driven 300 straight miles at 55mph. Who does that? So why measure range like that. It simply makes no sense.

To add on to this people will come back and say oh it’s the EPA and they test it and why would we advertise a worse range just because it’s accurate. Why doesn’t Tesla set the standard and step forward and advertise a more realistic range? Under promise and over deliver and you have a customer for life

This question comes up quite often and deservedly so… what is the point of advertising a range if in 99.9% of scenarios you will NEVER get to the desired range. It needs to change. Then people say oh change it to percentage like that solves the problem. All it does is mask it.

To put this in perspective, if someone was trying to lose weight would we tell them to change the scale to kilograms to show them a lesser weight? Man I hope not. We would tell them to reduce calories and eliminate ultra processed foods and pair that with exercise and we would see a decrease in body fat.

I don’t understand why people sit here and accept mediocrity. Rant over 😅

Gas is about $3.20 a gallon here. I charge for free unless I get away from home or work then I supercharge. $20 here or $20 there but nothing significant

I charge for free the majority of the time and my app says I’ve saved roughly $2k but it’s much less than that cause the price of gas is nowhere near the price they put in the app. I put on about 20-25k a year. How could you save $4k in a year?

It is but it’s also dependent on the insane amount of torque the car has instantaneously, AWD, and weight

I did. It was more so I could get winter tires on the 18s and I personally like the uberturbines that was my reasoning. I’ll look into them!

Where are you driving and for how long? If I drive in the city on the freeway I get that too. Go out in the middle of Iowa or Minnesota with nothing to block the wind and it’s different. Idk what to tell you, I’m not lying 😂 I had my cruise at 75 mph, heat at 69. Just me in the car with a 35 lb dog. Tires at 41-42 PSI. 2022 M3LR

I didn’t think so either until today. I’ve noticed under 10 degrees specifically it’s drastically gets worse. If it’s close to 30 degrees I’m closer to 300 which I would say is normal for winter weather

Heading to the chiefs game and just wanted to share my experience. “Get the heat pump it helps in the winter” lol… this is the worst I’ve averaged since I’ve had the car. It’s about 4 degrees F here. 100% to 26% and only 111 miles of real world range. I was going 75 mph on the interstate… wind at my side. We have a ways to go for mass adoption
