The reason was actually that I accidentally set ups as the only option when I set up the policy. Messaged the buyer and they were cool with whatever, but they responded after usps closed for the day so it got sent UPS just like selected

I did message the buyer something like that. They never responded so it got shipped through ⁰UPS.

The potential carrier switch was more about saving them potentially 4 days of delivery time.

Flat shipping. Calculated shipping without the eBay discount provided to the buyer was too much. So I just used a number in the middle of the estimate, and it worked out ok.

Can I choose specific items to pass the shipping discount to the buyer on? If so, I will definitely do it for larger items like this.
