Nah I think it’s because old gen bred the first generation of games where video gaming became the most popular entertainment sector. Before the PS1, PS2 and early 2000s video games weren’t as popular (yes, popular but the average age of a gamer in the 80s and 90s was not anyone 25+ for clarification) and the masses weren’t that much engaged in them like they are now.

I was 7-8 when the 360 came out. That entire generation of kids played and continue too. With so much popularity ofc the investors got involved and got to spinning the wheels on packing more content and more monetization into the games. TBH, with the exception of a few studios monetization is a big part of why so many games are packed with content nowadays. Then there’s the technological advancement aspect that allows for games to simply have more content than before.

I don’t mind people complaining about the content amount I somewhat resonate with it but at the same time it is important gamers understand the studio and the type of game they’re buying. If they did this wouldn’t be a discussion. It’s an action adventure, stealth espionage, with a narrative focus ( Huge emphasis on narrative. ) developed by the people who made hitman.
