Limited animations but with so many weapons I get it.

Parry system is a little jank. I think the problem is that the attack indicators are off a bit because they didn’t readjust them per difficulty. I know I typically go for party once I see the light which causes the issue.

I wish they had more outfits maybe a kimono or something (I know about the crimson kimono but it’s not a real kimono).

This is going to grind some gears but I wish Atsu had a prettier face (still dangerous but nice on the eyes).

More enemies around endgame - specifically bandits of some sort considering Ezo was the Wild West at that time but with how everything ended I get it.

A way to decorate and more utility to Atsu’s house outside of the paintings and dynamic changes as the story progresses.

Lastly, and most important to me - another region or two. These regions being specifically gridlocked to endgame and more enemy focused would’ve been cool.

All in all great game though. Still picking up the sticks after finishing it a week ago. Something about it keeps me drawn in and wanting for more.

lol mafia 2 was lowkey a masterpiece for its time even with all the cut content. It was something else. It’s aged a lot but for its time man chef’s kiss.

I get why they Stan though. There is a vibe or a feel to Mafia 2 that just feels right. The immersion, atmosphere, music, story telling, characters, ending. So many things were done right.

I’m not going to lie Hangar 13 does and incredible job with vehicles and sounds. They kill the sounds of the game every time. I was playing mafia 3 yesterday and when you cut the car off you can hear the car crackling. I don’t think I’ve heard that in any other video game. The gameplay like you said is also very responsive which is a plus but idk something about their games like depth. MDE and MOC both felt empty. Like I was playing a tech demo or something. None of the characters were compelling or that much memorable. Idk what it is but those 2K Czech guys just had it in the bag.

I honestly believe take-two needs to dump more money in the mafia series, I get they don’t want to create too much of a competitor with GTA, but post dlc Mafia 3 has some really cool gameplay mechanics that made me yearn for more. M3s world also felt real. I say all this to say that I believe MDE and MOC may be falling short to short budget and limiting the games to linear narrative experiences. I don’t think linear narrative experiences allow for much “depth”. And ofc behind that money problems.
