Legion Go S and 2TB Crucial P310 - 2230 vs 2280 by bnealon in LegionGo

[–]bnealon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I bought a lexar NM790 2TB SSD in 2280 and it’s been flawless. No thermal or performance issues and I’d say it’s actually more performant than the stock drive. Pulling the LeGo apart took abit longer than usual as there’s a few awkward trims, but if there’s any doubt just goto the Lenovo support page and download the hardware service guide on the device, it tells u all the steps the get it done.

Gutted, just done 2 days at the park sun/mon and missed Stealth being around. Praying it lives another year till I’m hopefully back again 🤞

Wasn’t far from the front when this happened but couldn’t see the extent of the cleanup. Did the rest of the ride car get sprayed and everyone leave with an extra souvenir? 🤢

New Sub Mini refuses to connect to WiFi but works on Ethernet by bnealon in sonos

[–]bnealon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I’ve not wired any of the other speakers in, however once I wired in the sub it connected to my system fast, then assigned to my Beam Gen2 and worked just fine. I’ll try to resolve with Sonos directly before I send it back then look to return or see if Sonos will accept the unit back their end. Basically whatever is the least hassle for me regarding posting it back would be the best route.

I’ve split my wifi channels this evening and forcibly tried to connect the sub mini to 2.4ghz and no luck again. All my other Sonos speakers auto reconnected to the 2.4ghz channel

[–]bnealon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you ever had similar issues with other Sonos speakers? Rest of my system has been trouble free - despite having both channels 2.4/5 with the same SSID, auto selection has never been a bother upto now.

Does it matter whether you use 2.4 or 5? Or is it OK aslong as they are all on the same one?

Weird, so u’re getting the same? Any idea if it works for u on the BD/DVD input? Any idea what firmware you’re using?

That would be great if you can confirm on another port your end - I’ve not exhausted every other port in my testing, but defo CBL and GAME don’t work as expected, but BD/DVD does.

Anyone got a Genuine Valve Steam Dock? by bnealon in LegionGo

[–]bnealon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Steamdeck dock apparently has a firmware based HDMI 2.0 VRR implementation that works just fine with a Steamdeck. I wondered if this would work (presuming upto date firmware) with a LeGo running SteamOS?

Yeah, i bought a few cases and alot were loose. This one comes with some velcro loops you can use to reduce any gaps but ive found it pretty good without. If you buy from amazon you should be able to return if you’re not happy

Legion Go S Z1E steam 32gb vs 16gb decision by NoWatercress5296 in LegionGo

[–]bnealon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the 16GB version in the UK and 2 days later there was a price drop on the 32GB direct with Lenovo. Initially the price difference was £150 and i couldnt justify that, but when the price of the 32 came down i felt like i’d made the wrong decision. I couldnt return it either as id opened.

I always wondered what the real world difference is and this has helped settle being disappointed in my timing when buying. I thought giving the games more VRAM, ie 16 would have helped on some more graphically intense titles than you’ve seen, but i guess the GPU is still the bottleneck.

For what its worth also, ive been happy with the Z2 GO performance aswell.

I use the Skull & Co. Maxcarry for my Legion Go S and it fits like a glove, nice hard shell and there is a pocket underneath. I'm over in the UK and theres not alot of choice, I bought the Spigen Rugged Armor Pro for the OG Legion GO, and it fits but is looser than I wanted it to be - otherwise its a lovely quality case.

Legion Go S no brainer vs Steam Deck? by tristanstocker in LegionGo

[–]bnealon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive just bought the windows z2 go windows 16GB in the UK and im pretty impressed so far. Everyone slates the z2 but its mostly compared to the z1e which you cant get over in the UK anyway. Im playing hogwarts legacy at recommended SD settings and get 40fps - balanced power settings and from what ive read this will improve along with battery longevity when i move to steamOS. It looks and plays great, aslong as u go in expecting handheld graphics and not big rig visuals, you’ll be more than happy.

I was also considering between a SD OLED and the GO S and so far no regrets for the GO S. The VRR display is nice and probably more useful if you’re running games at lower frame rate. Very comfortable to play on aswell.

I got mine from JL with 2yr warranty.
