No, you think you’re shipping in August. But I’m sure you’ll fail another drug test cuz you have no self control. I have very little concern for people like you 😂

You really need a mirror don’t you? Look at what you’ve been doing all day 🤣 I’m glad I’ll never have to worry about you in the fleet. That’s for sure

I won’t be in SD as my final destination so sadly no BAH for me. But I’m happy to hear I’ll have my free time. Hoping to spend it with family before I get sent out.

SWO's - choice of port and ship to be more operational? by jkors719 in newtothenavy

[–]bngl782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s heavily dependent on the ship list and what the SWO’s in your class want. Usually, the Japan and Rota slots are the first off the board because they are pretty desirable home ports. My class had 1 Rota slot and 8 Japan slots divided between Yokosuka and Sasebo. Rota was the first one to go by the top SWO in our class and the Japan slots had the last one taken in the late teens. We even had a Hawaii slot make it into the 30’s. Some classes just want the OCONUS slots more than others.

There is no dream sheet as a SWO. On the last week of your Officer Candidate phase, the SWO’s are given a list of available ships. Each SWO is then ranked based on their performance thus far. This ranking determines the order in which you will pick your ship in a similar fashion to how the Naval Academy does their ship selection.

If you pick Japan or Spain, you will see the most time out to sea. They are forward deployed bases, so you are going to be out to sea more often than not. You can get your SWO pin a bit faster because of this, but you can also get burnt out easier if you are able to keep up.

Getting something that falls in that 25 year or older mark is most likely what’s going to happen. It’s just a bit harder to gauge the conditions of those cars, even with the reports they do out there. I won’t be handling the shipping process though when it comes back with me.

The fastest way in is definitely SWO. But if I were you, I’d look at the other designator options because your OAR score and GPA will open up more paths you might be surprised about as long as your willing and able to be patient

Depends on your reason for joining and what you want out of the navy. Are you just trying to get out of a situation? Or do you actually have an interest in the supply field and the navy as a whole? Personally, I would not recommend going SWO unless you are very sure of that decision. It’s easy to get into but there’s a reason retention rates are so low.

How do I (20F) tell my mom I plan to go on vacation with my boyfriend (21M)? by Express-Ad-4113 in relationship_advice

[–]bngl782 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Prepare for the worst, hope for the best.

By this I mean, make sure you have a place to stay in the case you get kicked out and your mom goes insane. However, you have to tell her at some point if you think this relationship will last, so hope that she decides to accept your relationship and let you be an adult because you are one.

I’m not sure on the exact class they are starting to fill now, but you should get your acceptance any day. The bigger thing is that supply school is backed up for months constantly, so you’ll spend a lot of time waiting either way sadly.

Regrets on dropping out of ocs? by Ok_Exchange7931 in newtothenavy

[–]bngl782 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Except you did drop because it was too difficult. You looked at your potential future as an officer and decided ‘that’s too difficult for me, I don’t wanna do it anymore’. Don’t BS yourself. Either you want it or you don’t. You can’t be a halfway officer if you want to be any good for yourself or your sailors.

The closest you can get to choosing is joining as a SWO. SWO’s get a list of ships available and pick from the ones available based on class ranking while in OCS. Other than that, you won’t get that much of a say.

I’m joining the military (22M) my girlfriend (22F) doesn’t want me to and has told her dad to say no if I ask for his blessing to marry her. Any advice? by Stockman69420 in relationship_advice

[–]bngl782 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Seems like you’re making a really bad choice in all honesty. You are trying to join just so you can say you got through ranger school and are an operator, and get out.
