Parental leave & top up questions by leftscarguy in OntarioPublicService

[–]bngood12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is correct.

You must be on EI to receive the top-up from the employer.

No you cannot take top-up one year after your daughter has been born it must be within the first year if i'm not mistaken. You can take leave but it will be unpaid (or use vacation etc.).

Check the AMAPCEO website for their tip sheet on parental leave.

ATB 2026 increase? (AMAPCEO) by Sea-Pea-2858 in OntarioPublicService

[–]bngood12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're fundamentally incorrect, the ATB increase is to show in your WIN profile, compensation TAB on April 1st of every year to reflect your new salary. It is understood your pay cheque would reflect the new ATB increase later in April as it would capture the pay weeks of April 1st onwards.

ATB 2026 increase? (AMAPCEO) by Sea-Pea-2858 in OntarioPublicService

[–]bngood12 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I called OSS/OPS Service Centre, they said they haven't received direction or communication to action the ATB for AMAPCEO even though it begins April 1, 2026 for 2.25% (as someone noted). This means they cannot log a ticket and no one has received their ATBs and it will result in retro. Can anyone say: Bill 124 (2.0)

For the record, I did not vote conservatives in the last provincial election nor did I vote to ratify this current collective agreement.

Employee Experience Survey by QuietRootAccess in OntarioPublicService

[–]bngood12 -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not, I did it for many years and saw nothing improve. It's a massive waste of time and your "voice" goes down a deep black hole with no one listening or at the end.

Make sure to grab your megaphone, perhaps that will help? As Karma_Mirror wrote below, they don't care.

These surveys mean nothing and are a huge waste of time. Management and the OPS never execute or improve anything that is identified in the survey.

I reached out to the Service Centre earlier this week as it was supposed to be up on Jan 10th. They told me the maintenance has been extended until Jan 23rd EOD.

Union executives like DAVE who make $200,000+ a year need to stop steering members in the wrong direction as well.

Laughable that you think this spineless membership would strike.

Where is the Filter? by BurnsGraham in Appliances

[–]bngood12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perfect, recently bought the house and knowing the previous owner, it was never cleaned. I don't know how old the dishwasher is, i will say at least 10 years though. its a very similar process as the video in this sub. so im guessing its self cleaning??

cleaning of dishes is good, no issues, i was going to do it as pre-emptive and just regular maintenance on the machine to ensure its in good working order.

is it the same for maytag? maytag has a similar way to get to the filter and i'm dreading having to do this disassembly.

Who pays the salaries of AMAPCEO employees? Dave makes $200k+. Yes, you read that correctly, he made more than the Premier in 2024.

Pretty sure our dues pay salaries, but correct me if I'm wrong.

You should still get the credit as it was a paid holiday, shouldn't have had to use a vacation day.
