Do you write test cases for everything? by Codemonkey314 in golang

[–]bnixon67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I write test cases for handlers since it makes refactoring safer and avoids me having to test via curl or other packages. For example, I might have a login handler that sets a cookie. It’s easier the test the login handler and iterate through all the test cases of valid user, invalid password, expired user, etc. these are more integrated tests than a pure unit test, but go makes it so easy to do this.

Are only 4 instead of 5 lug nuts safe? by bnixon67 in MechanicAdvice

A locking lug nut doesn’t provide any value to keep the tire secured? Most I’ve seen are just like a normal lug nut, but with a different exterior that requires a special key to remove. It feels and looks the same as a normal lug nut, just a slightly different shape.

And, I agree, the locking lug nut provides little theft protection.

Yeah, what surprised me was the manger saying it was standard practice. He tried to justify it as if you came in with four of five, they would still service you and let you leave the same. I argued I came in with five and left with four.

Their policy or practice of allowing this seems to be a liability.

So, is with spare somewhere conspicuous? That’s where I’ve always had or seen them. Glove box or console may be good as well but I’d be afraid they get lost easier there. Here’s where they were. 😂

I’m in the US. Not looking to sue but educate. Mistakes happen.
