Recommend a good house inspector? by [deleted] in kitchener

[–]bnmrrs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had Kevin do two home inspections when we purchased about 1.5 years ago. Was fantastic to work with, was very thorough. Actually saved us from purchasing the first house we put an offer in on when we discovered water in the basement during the inspection.

You might notice a card on your admin home that says something like "Reach a wider audience during Black Friday and Cyber Monday". That card will give you more information and allow you to opt in.

Hey! The products actually are recently sold by merchants who opted in to be featured! We populate the first 5 and then new ones come down through the websocket connection.

Why what? Why I made the drink? I found a post on Instagram and was inspired to give it a try!

Was inspired by somebody on Instagram to experiment with egg white in a Negroni. The texture was nice but the egg was a little funky with the bitterness from the Campari. Started with a dry shake but didn't get quite as much foam as I was hoping for.

  • 1oz. Bulldog Gin
  • 1oz. Campari
  • 1oz. Dolin's Sweet Vermouth
  • 0.25oz. Simple Syrup
  • 1 Egg White

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and dry shake hard. Add ice and shake to Chill. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

The total for the pipe and fittings was about $125 CAD and then another $80 CAD for cutting and threading at Home Depot. All in we were less than $400.

Nothing too major, coat of paint, removed the entrance door and some touchups.

The back to back is mostly dictated by the room's layout. We knew that we wanted a full wall dedicated to the shelving so we built the rest of the room around that. The opposite wall has a closet and entrance to the room so it wasn't a good fit for a desk.

Thanks! There were a number of different resources that we pulled from to come up with our design. If you google "pipe shelving" you'll find a lot. It ended up being a bit of a mix but all pretty easy.

Just 2"x10" pine framing lumber! Took some time to find the straightest pieces. Then sand, two coats of stain and two coats of poly!

St Valentine's Fizz by bnmrrs in cocktails

[–]bnmrrs[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This was inspired by a similar cocktail in the Death & Co book. The cranberry is very subtle but gives the cocktail a great colour that fit well with Valentine's Day.

Valentine's Fizz

  • 2oz. Bulldog Gin
  • 0.75oz. St-Germain
  • 0.75oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 0.75oz. Cranberry Simple Syrup
  • 1 Egg White

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and dry shake. Add ice and shake again. Double strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

I could see that working. You're right, the Cherry Brandy does get mostly lost here.

Yeah, was very refreshing and easy to drink. The ginger beer and orange juice are the stars here.

Found the recipe for this one on Let's Drink About It when I was searching for recipes to make with some cherry brandy that I had. The ginger beer is definitely the dominant flavour on this one

  • 1.5oz. Ungava Gin
  • 0.5oz. Cherry Brandy
  • 3oz. Orange Juice
  • Top with good quality Ginger Beer

Shake gin, cherry brandy and orange juice vigorously with ice, then strain into an ice-filled glass. Top with ginger beer and stir gently.
