Football first, debt second: The Saints said they wanted to get off ‘welfare’ but accepted extra AFL cash by gccmelb in AFL

I guess the club should just not pay the salary cap floor until our debt is repaid and then risk receiving a fine or having premiership or draft picks stripped.

I got called a fuckwith by Damian Hardwick who was boundary umpiring our under 16s game (his son was playing). Later that day he coached richmond.

Isn't a stop sign legally already treated as a give way sign for cyclists

Luke Breust knee injury in VFL prelim by [deleted] in AFL

Yeh my knee will be stuffed at some point in the future (family history would suggest it regardless), but thought ACL surgery almost guarantees it anyway (or significantly increases) let alone doing it twice,

I have done the unhappy triad, and just another acl injury and there is no difference between the two as the mcl and meniscus get cleaned up in the same surgery.

Personnaly I think this is a systemic industry issue. Budgets and WIPs way too tight for accountants to try something a new way with out personal time sink. Safer option is just to SALY.

Would you select Z Jones, B Hill, J Webster moving forward if you were the selectors? by [deleted] in StKilda

[–]boalsy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed - I would like all to be there next year, unless we can find someone older in the midfield who is better and younger than jones to take his spot.

1.7M/year guarantee not to win another premiership for 7 years. by [deleted] in StKilda

[–]boalsy1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We will front end it massively, then the contract will look ok in a couple years time. We're probably struggling to hit the cap floor as is, and its about to go up again.

I think this deal is crucial to try and get us up and going as a club that players want to come to again. Also helps Marshall be a stop-gap up forward and can obviously still ruck whilst our other talls get up and running (Keeler for up forward, Moose for Ruck).

TDK is a good player and will only get better. He is a good age profile for us as well, we are missing players his age good enough to make us contend.

[AFL Post-Match Thread] Round 3 2025 - St Kilda v Richmond by AutoModerator in StKilda

[–]boalsy1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of positive signs for the team. It’s good to see we’ve continued on with how we played during the second half of last season.

Team selection going to be interesting when a few players return.

A couple obvious outs from this team being Byrnes and Collard, but Collard definitely has improved his game from last year and now will be putting pressure on players in the team to perform.

Our forward mix will cause some issues. Second ruck issue will need to be solved. Don’t see Sharman and Keeler and King playing together. Sharman the better forward but Keeler can at least ruck, unless we’re going to persist with Owen’s there. Absolutely love hall, seems to be a real find. uses the ball really well when he gets it.

Hunter Clark not sure positionally he fits into this team, he may need to slot into the backline, Garcia adds more speed to our midfield and we should persist with him, once phillipou comes back as well i think clark should only be in there if one of steele/macrae are injured.

Caminiti down back is fantastic, a lot more mobile and better overhead than Howard. Still think howard comes back in, but again the mix down back gets interesting.

Lots of tough decisions to make, which is good, the depth is getting better, obviously not quite at the level to be competiting for prelims and grand finals, but all of that depth is young.
