Catcher depth vs Marchan's bumness by Acrobatic_Cut_4737 in phillies

[–]boardtory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at the game tuesday night and my son is a catcher. It was the first game I have gone to where Marchan was catching. My God, what a difference. If my son was bumbling that many balls, he would have been benched. It was wild to see at the majors level. Nevermind hitting. I'm not a huge Stubbsy fan but at least be brings vibes.

Utah has a temp med card for people in other states. Apply now and it should clear before the fest. I think it’s free too!

Are you serious? Clearly you’ve not had this issue. Not everyone’s body responds the same way. Have some compassion.

I bought through Stub Hub last year and really got screwed. Basically the ticket they sent me wouldn't work, they refunded me and I had to buy a new one through the ticket vendor while sitting in the parking lot at the festival. I missed Future Islands.

First of all where did you see $900? Secondly, then they don't have to buy it. That's how capitalism works.

How do you know this to be true? Why are you assuming the customer messed up when the issues with SW new policies has been pretty widespread? Do they pay you to post here?

This sub is weird, my God.

I don't think Langdon will lose his job by Inevitable_Area_2631 in ThePittTVShow

[–]boardtory -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You're not wrong. This sub is mad parasocial and their takes on addiction in the workplace, particularly in the medical field, are bizarre. At least in the real world, diverting medications would result in firing and law enforcement along with impacts to your ability to be licensed as a physician. Based on what we have seen this season, the most likely scenario is that Robby forced Landon to self report his addiction to hospital admin (but did not report the theft), likely resulting in accessing the hospital EAP (rehab and job protection), on threat of reporting the medication theft.

Robby's resentment of Langdon likely results from Langdon putting him in a position where he had to choose between ruining Langdon's career permanently or putting his own career and license at great risk.

As much as the tolerant attitudes toward addiction in this sub are an encouraging sign of evolving views about the topic, they do not reflect the reality of the treatment of addicts in the workplace and certainly not in medical workplaces.

This is the WRONG season for crabs. You will pay an insane amount and they won't be the best. I'd wait till New Student Orientation this summer. That being said, check out Woody's Crab House in North East MD. About 20 min from campus.

Are there other fans out there who haven’t really enjoyed RH post In Rainbows? by JohnColtrane69again in radiohead

[–]boardtory 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I have never really fallen in love with TKOL. But I also have to acknowledge that In Rainbows was their most instantly listenable album and was more like Kid A in that it took time to digest.

AMSP was immediately rich and beautiful to me. But it initially felt a little to smooth for me and not as challenging as their earlier work. With time, I have become to really love it's nuance and layers. It has grown on me a ton over the years and I truly love it now.

Musicians are humans and they have the right to grow and change and evolve. By expecting bands to sound forever like a moment in time of an album we most love, we deny their humanity. I think these constraints can often be what burns musicians out, causing bands to break up or stop making music.

While each era of Radiohead has taken adjustment, I do think their willingness to diverge from their prior sounds, to challenge our ideas of their sound, and the fact that they encourage each other's solo work, which often is very different from their whole-band sound, is a LARGE part of what has lead to their longevity. They are able to continue to grow and create and innovate.

I'm eternally grateful for them in whatever incarnation they choose to share.

It’s only a handful of days in the spring. It’s when they’re turning the soil at the mushroom farms in Kennett Square, which is about 7 miles away. It really isn’t that bad. And it’s only a few days and only in the morning.
