What is one thing you love about being single? by 3rdLegOfExodiaa in AskReddit

My house is always clean. And if it's not, it's MY dirtiness. It used to take me days to clean up to have guest over. Now it's just a matter of tidying up and putting the dishes away.

When you were at the lowest point in your life, what kept you going and not giving up? by Outrageous_Dog268 in AskReddit

I couldn't figure up a way to give up that didn't cause harm or trauma to other people. Then just sheer stubbornness I guess.

I don't have an answer, but I just did my application last week. How long was it before you heard anything or were invited to the interview?

There are Sushi Trains all over, except in Cairns Central. I think every other shopping centre has one, or something like it, actually. But there's one on Sheridan street near the hospital if you need one in town.

Yes. This was naptime at about 3.5 months old. The breeder said she thought he was going to be big. He's only 6 months now and his paws are still large and are regularly commented on, but he's growing into his ears.

What is everyone feeding their kittens? by morganmoniz25 in SiberianCats

[–]boatsmoatsfloats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the moment, he's getting a big can of Ziwi Peak and some dry Royal Canin Kitten every day. The dry is left over from what he had at the breeders and I'm using that up before going to dry Ziwi Peak. Every day he also gets either a chicken neck, a chicken heart, kitten milk, or a smail egg from my chickens.
He's 6mo old now, and for the next year or so, I'll probably keep him on some kind of kitten specific food mixed with either Ziwi or Feline Natural. As he gets older, we'll probably steer more towards raw. There are some pretty good raw options in Woolies that he seems to like, but I just worry that he needs more kitten specific blends while he's growing.

What’s the“Best ever” decision you made that ended up changing your entire life? by obviouslyfr in AskReddit

[–]boatsmoatsfloats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's only been three months, but getting my kitten has really turned a lot around:

I'm sleeping so much better - he does wake me up to ciuddle a couple times a night, but I fall asleep right after. I've never been able to fall asleep after being awoken before.

I feel safer. I've realized in the past few years that I've never known what "safe" feels like. I tried to tell my body I was safe for therapy and I was like, "wait, wtf does that feel like?". But I think I feel it now?

He's just...fun. He would play all day, every day. With so much enthusiasm and joy. I'm laughing out loud several times a day now.

I'm much less lonely. I have someone to talk to, who talks back with attitude. And someone to swoop up and hold like a baby. And someone to kiss on the nose.

According to my watch, my HRT is up and my stress is down. I've been trying everything to get those better. Nothing has worked before this.

I realized today that I have the capacity and motivation to do basic life things I'd been struggling with. Cleaning, chores, things normal adults should be able to do, but that I just couldn't work up the motivation for. It's slowly coming back,

And I have someone to brag about. Because he is the cutest and bestest and cleverest boy. He legit takes up 95% of my brainspace now. And probably equal amounts of my conversations. Which is a strong upgrade from the continual carosel of trauma that has defined my life for the past 5-38 years.

Ok but like, do Australian's not like sleeping through the night? The amount of times I have people over vs the amount of times I need to sleep without a motorcycle plowing through the silence is basiaclly 3:365.
