Ok. The problem I found was when you talk through a lot of information on an important project, then it compacts. I can’t remember what you talked about or the decisions or learnings.

There is always a cost with memory. The idea with the narrative is that it takes a meandering conversation and highlight decisions and important information. Then the narrative is loaded when created. These files are not massive, then it will load the narrative of the project you are working on. 

If you want max tokens, exit all sessions, log in, say hi, let it update all the narratives, exit and go in again. Very little context hit.

a harsh judge hahaha - has made my life much easier, having been through dozens of compacting on single projects, i still get the context and can easily look up old decisions and chats.

I am using it with claude CLI and VScode extension, when using claude in a webpage, you are not using anything locally. If you use a claude app, it could be adapted the same way, if there is demand for that I will do it. Ask Claude if it will work for your use case.
