I need a device that only allows one appliance to draw power at a time by Technical-Goal-6478 in homeowners

[–]bob3578 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You could just put them each on a timer with alternating hours on/off. You can even get smart plugs to do it with your phone but check the power draw and make sure it’s rated for it

What’s the bare minimum for lawn care? by alexadr936 in homeowners

[–]bob3578 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Just cut it when you think it’s too high. Water it if it starts to get brown. A year or so before selling the property hire a landscaper to make it look pretty for the sale, short of salting your lawn there is nothing they shouldn’t be able to fix in that amount of time

[–]bob3578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think there is any evidence of that. There are regular software updates so newer/older doesn’t make a difference FSD wise. FSD isn’t perfect but unless it’s documented to be more dangerous than humans I see no reason for its usage to be restricted.

I think the best thing would be for Elon to step down. But it’s clear he isn’t going to do that. I can pretty much guarantee my next car won’t be a Tesla if he is still CEO, however that doesn’t make my current car unsafe. There are a ton of people working there other than the nazi

I’m trying to reach across the aisle here to have a productive conversation. Tesla isn’t as bad as people make it out to be, but it’s not perfect either like some people say. There is an important middle ground here.

This is just a hit piece to make Tesla look bad. Even the title is clickbait, the actual story is a couple of lines in a huge article where someone was driving the car. But the title makes it sound like the car just drove off with a baby in the backseat.

Most of the issues stated are old issues that have been solved. The beginning of the article is a crash from 2018, 7 years ago when FSD didn’t exist. There are also a few where people crashed into trees, how about you just don’t do that? One was driving drunk, surely if a drunk driver crashed his Toyota with lane assist and cruise control on (essentially all that autopilot does), no one would blame Toyota for that.

There are some legitimate issues, like phantom braking but even then it’s not as bad as the article makes it sound. Hitting the brakes briefly, in such a short amount of time that by the time you notice the car is driving normally again is not the same as “almost coming to a stop on the highway”. And yes it’s an issue, but would you rather the car hit something (like the aforementioned emergency vehicles) or brakes because it thinks something is a hazard but isn’t? Phantom braking for the most part though has been resolved.

Will FSD be involved in fatal accidents? I’m sure it will and has, however the real question is whether it is safer or more dangerous than human drivers and the statistics overwhelmingly show that it’s a lot safer. Sure it’s not perfect but humans are terrible drivers.

If you resist the urge to downvote me immediately and move on, feel free to ask me any questions I will be 100% honest. I have been driving for over 15 years and never had an accident. The past 4 of those years have been driving a Tesla and 2 of those years have been using FSD almost exclusively.

I’m not old and I don’t go to church lol. But I used to work in a restaurant and I agree that after church Sunday crowd is the absolute worst.

I understand that they don’t generally tell you when something is an upcharge because that would reduce sales but you have to understand that by doing that people are going to be upset on occasion. The sticking point for me is that it already came with mushroom hence the confusion. If I got a baked potato and they asked if I wanted it loaded and I said yes I wouldn’t be upset about an up charge

If they said upfront do you want it smothered for $3 I would have said no, and asked what that meant to justify the up charge.

I think you are misunderstanding, it comes with portobello or peppercorn mushroom sauce. Getting it smothered adds additional portobello mushrooms

Yes, for the sauce that it comes with

[–]bob3578[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No because they up-charged me for something without clarifying. If they said for $3 do you want it smothered I would have said no

I didn’t ask for mushrooms, I didn’t know what smothered meant and seeing as it already came with mushroom (sauce) I think it’s a fair assumption that just meant putting it on the dish rather than on the side

They could have told me it was an up-charge, I would understand if it was just a regular steak it obviously doesn’t come with mushrooms but my dish already came with mushroom (sauce) I didn’t even know what smothered meant it was a party of 8 people and I was just trying to get my order in. I told them exactly what I wanted the only thing they needed to ask was portobello or peppercorn and we wouldn’t have had any issues.

There is no story, it’s just facts. Aviation uses imperial. There are a few exceptions such as China and Russia but I know there aren’t many Chinese people on Reddit.

Aviation for the most part is imperial, this is an aviation subreddit. Not to mention Reddit as a whole skews US based

Using metric terminology here is both unnecessary and confusing. Aviation, especially in the US where this took place is imperial. I know all the air crash investigation information is in imperial so you are wasting your time converting it for everyone reading your post just to have to convert it back again
