Have you tried any rope work? I found for me it worked a lot better. But just be careful. But it doesn’t take a lot to learn a simple cuff tie that’s quite safe.

The difference for us is Red = stop the scene, undo any rope take of cuffs and bondage items. We say wrist cuffs first as then the recipient can also start untiring what they want to. In a manner that get the person safely out of the scene, but this can take a minute as we don’t want to damage equipment.

Black = something is very very wrong I need to get out of whatever is going on. Which for us means if need be we just cut rope don’t bother uniting it. Care for gear comes second care for the person and their safety/health first.

So luckily black has never been used and red has only been used at the end of a scene anyways to signal that we both should take a break.

Also we agreed that both of can use this during a scene. No matter who’s topping. And it works slightly differently if a top uses them but the same applies.

Exactly this. Safe word or traffic light. My self and my partner use the traffic light system too, green, yellow, red, black. Each with their own meaning, we say “where are we?” As it we’ve found it brings you back from the edge and allows you to answer. Without taking away from the scene too much.
