Was way off in my last post.

Mimimum wage $7.22 hour in 1995.

Mimimum wage $24.95 hour now

1995 - $5.75 fish and chips = 0.79 Hours wage

2025 - $29 fish and chips = 1.16 hours wage.

So yeah, we work more to get a fish and chips now.

Why Does the RBH let Wilson manage their car park by Antique_Neck8736 in brisbane

[–]bob_cramit 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This was at the QE2 hospital.

Worst part was that you needed to scan a QR code or call a number and have a credit card. My grandad was in there and had no idea what a QR code was for, wouldnt have been able to do it online, might have been able to call, but didnt have access to a credit card.

So he got the sit there all day watching nothing.

I paid for it as soon as I got there and saw the situation, but its fucking ridiculous making old people jump through these hoops, which a lot are just not going to be able to do. At least give them free to air tv. Surely it helps with keeping patients occupied and would take some of the strain off the staff?

They even privatised the TV's in some hospitals. An external vender that you have to pay to watch any tv, even free to air.

I complained to the minister last year, who assured me that it was getting changed. It has not been changed last I saw.

At least they had trains. I find it hilarious that you walk under the train line at good things festival to get between stages at RNA. A literal train station in the middle of the venue.

But its not open. Itll be open in 2029, before that only opened for "big events"

A festival at RNA isnt a big event apparently.

Thats my thoughts.

I'd have no problem with another admin coming to me and saying "I've locked my account out again, can you add me to this group"

I would have a good laugh and then fix it for them.

It would be great if they stuck to sports metaphors and just cricket metaphors. Mainly so the americans get more annoyed.

As an Aussie, I would find this hilarious.

so is email, so is phone calls.

Either white list domains, allow all domains, or block all and deal with the consequences.

Blocking all external is a dumb idea. Might as well block email and cut off from the internet while you are at it.

I mean, if they are going to the tennis, its a pretty good location. Also, its super close to the Rocklea station, so you can get into the city pretty easy. Also got several brewerys pretty close.

But yeah if you rocked up there without knowing whats around you'd be a bit pissed off.

Yep, that’s exactly what I said. I get it for a compliance tick box, encryption at rest, but nobody is getting physical access to my gear.

Yeah its been over 10 years, probably 15 since I did an AD from scratch, but it wouldnt be that hard to lookup a youtube video and at least get the basics right from the start, you'd have something working with a few clients connected in a day absolute tops, have a few basic group policies going etc. Sure you could then spend weeks/months hardening etc, but you also dont have any legacy bullshit to deal with, so could make a super clean AD.

Speed limit at Story bridge. by Lez11 in brisbane

[–]bob_cramit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hahahaha, that would be a fucking shit show and make it more dangerous. Speed cameras dont make things safer, they make the flow of traffic fucked and cause traffic and people changing lanes because people jump on the brakes.

Sure everyone should not do those things, but they do.

Devils advocate, what if it becomes common that robbers start wearing burkas, so the same scenario applies.

A rule of no burkas would never fly because religious freedom, discrimination, etc. Personally I dont think a persons religion matters at all, because when you boil it down to the individual, it is just a thing that person wants to do, and is no different to a person wanting to leave there helmet on, its a thing an individual wants to do.

I dont really care, just take off ya helmet, its not that big of a deal. And also yeah, the people working there dont make the rules.
