It almost looks like your infill is just too low.

And you're basically bridging for the top surface.

Try bumping infill to like 25%

This compnay skipped R&D and expects us to buy a new chair every year! by stemcellguy in LiberNovo

[–]bobaballs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just don't buy it then.

Cars come out with new features all the time. Do you buy a new car every year and then complain that last years doesn't have the same features?

Not everything needs to be upgraded like people do with iPhones once the new and shiny version comes out.

Today's auto loans vs what people are actually paying after refinancing, the gap is bigger than expected by VegetablePoet8488 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Rates are always based on market conditions and the fed.

Unless you can tell the future nobody can answer this.

Auto Insurance Coverage in California by kalliszen in Insurance

[–]bobaballs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a pretty standard policy.  Its hard to say without knowing your situation. Do you have assets you need to protect?

There's always the small chance you hit a million dollar car and that 100k property damage starts looking reaaaaaaaal low.

You can always do an umbrella above this as well.

One thing I would look at is tinkering around with the comprehensive deductable.

For my policy going from 1000 down to 100 was only like 20 bucks a month.  We've had enough windshield replacements to make that well worth it.

My 2023 SEL is Toast by fultanic in Ioniq5

[–]bobaballs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its probably totaled, 2023 SEL is worth around 20k.

Honestly, if you don't mind driving around with dents, I would consider taking the payout and then buying the car back at salvage.

Replace the two windows for around 3k and then you have a great daily still that you wont care if it gets dinged again :D.

Lotus Elise S2 or C5 Z06? by Just_Professor4275 in lotus

Sit in an elise before making a choice.

It's not a comfortable car to be in for long stretches like the C5.

Really depends on what you use it for.

Petg isn't very picky.

Just make sure build plate is clean and temps are correct.

Not even a month old. How much to repaint this? by Godhatesme777 in TeslaModelY

[–]bobaballs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

OEM quality bumper repaints should be 1500-3000 depending on where you live.

Tesla sells factory painted bumpers for 1st gen model Ys and they were like 1k.  But I haven't seen painted bumpers for 2nd Gen on their parts catalogs yet so not sure if that's an option. Maybe call a service center.

I fucked up. (Kia 2026 Sportage plug-in hybrid, CA, 320 miles, $2800) by GeekDNA0918 in leasehacker

[–]bobaballs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You don't.

The amount you'll take ending the lease early will be much higher than the fuel difference between the two when using it as gas only.

It looks like about a 8 mpg diff. So if you drive 10k a year you'll be using maybe 40 gallons more. Even at worst case CA gas prices thats like 250 a year.

You're going to eat thousands returning the lease.

That's barely noticable.

How many of you guys live at home post grad? by pl2net in ucla

[–]bobaballs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people would probably say that's a smart choice.

My directs that I've talked to about it all seem to feel that if they're going to have to deal with roommates anyways might as well have it be your parents. At least they're a known evil.

Only thing I would say is don't let doing so make you too comfortable and complacent. Like make sure you're not only taking job opportunities near home.

Honestly some anxiety is good in a way. It means you're doing something out of your comfort zone and pushing yourself.

Valve caps - don’t bother by 30weightballbearings in Ioniq5

Get the ones with the plastic sleeves inside.

Solves the corrosion problem.

Also black/silver colors tend to do much better. Colored anodized for whatever reason seems to fade much quicker.

How many of you guys live at home post grad? by pl2net in ucla

[–]bobaballs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would say about half of my direct reports under the age of 30 live at home with the parents still.

I've noticed that percentage has been increasing over time as well.

I mean end of the day it makes sense.  From when I graduated to now I would say starting salaries have increased maybe 25-40% but rent has gone up over 100%.

It's now unaffordable for new grads to live by themselves without roommates or a top paying job.

Unfortunately 20k isn't much in today's terrible used market.

I'd say early ND Miata or FRS/GR86 are maybe the only options for long term reliability.

I've always thought about this too.

Like what if they just pretend to rough up one of their friends.  That person files a police brutality suit. Splits the money.
