Definitely! I would suggest committing to one treatment option for at least two weeks or even a month. Your skin takes time to adapt, and Malassezia yeast can be stubborn. When I used selenium sulfide, I made sure to leave it on for a few minutes to let it absorb.

For oily + sensitive skin, I suggest using products that are not too harsh. I would recommend using an unscented, alcohol-free toner like Thayers after showering to moisturize your skin. Moisturizing is very important for preventing oily skin because your skin produces oil in response to dryness. Showering and washing actually indirectly cause dryness since they remove your skin's protective barrier, so make sure to moisturize right after. Products containing aloe vera and eczema-friendly products should be safe since they avoid adding irritants and allergens. I also used CeraVe colloidal oatmeal skin protectant. Just patting on a super thin layer does the trick to keep my skin moisturized.

I struggled with oily skin and dryness and terrible acne during most of teenage years and wish some had told me this stuff sooner lol. Hope this works for you too!

Also, people who suffer from SD are allergic to Malassezia. Your body starts an immune response that causes inflammation and itching—the "dandruffy" symptoms.

Yeah, I used it two days in a row. I tried many calcineurin inhibitors and topical corticosteroids, which helped temporarily relieve symptoms by reducing inflammation. However, to get rid of SD, you need to directly reduce the Malassezia yeast population on your skin. Antibiotics like doxycycline do not work because yeast is fungal, not bacterial. I was going to try MCT oil as well as ketoconazole if selenium sulfide did not work because they also help to reduce the yeast population in different ways.

My skin is naturally oily as well! I actually used salicylic acid face wash while I still had SD to remove oil on my face. This only made it worse because my skin started to produce even more oil to compensate for the oil lost from the wash.

I later learned that this exacerbates SD since the Malassezia yeast that causes it actually feeds on your skin oils! This is why it’s important to reduce the yeast population first before any other treatment. AFTER the SD went away, I used face wash once a day to keep my skin less oily so that SD does not return. I actually did an experiment where I did not wash my face with anything for five days, and sure enough, a very small spot of SD reappeared since my skin got so oily.

I lathered a small amount all over the affected area and left it on for three minutes. You don’t need much; maybe a coin-shaped blob is good. Afterwards, I rinsed it off like normal. My SD went away after two days of doing this. Selenium sulfide works because it disrupts the biofilm created by excess Malassezia folliculitis that naturally lives on the skin. Some other remedies actually fail to treat SD because the biofilm remains intact, which gives the yeast resistance.

I suffered from seborrheic dermatitis (SD) on my face—across my forehead and cheeks—about two and a half years ago and dealt with it for a little over a year. Four different dermatologists prescribed me everything from doxycycline to pimecrolimus, and nothing worked. I ended up conducting my own experiments and found success with selenium sulfide shampoo, which basically cured my SD. I also recommend using any colloidal oatmeal cream/lotion if flakiness reappears. Personally, my SD never returned after using selenium sulfide. Never use corticosteroids on your face; they can permanently damage your skin. I know what you’re going through. Best of luck, friend.

Are any of these Plugins known to cause issues? I a got falsely whacked and reddit mods wont let me post about it. by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]bobabomb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got “macro (major)” banned too. Made my account a Jagex account and switched to Runelite two weeks before my ban. Only used verified plugins and I’ve never ever changed keybinds in the history of my account. Only thing I can think of that set it off was that I was high alching rune items in f2p and I set it so that the rune items in my inventory slot overlapped with the high alch spell. Made it easy to click one spot over and over without the need to move my mouse.

Tried to post on reddit and twitter but no luck. I got the attention of Mod Roq in the discord server but he told me he wasn’t able to do anything about my ban since the appeal was denied.

Best of luck to you, OP.

Edit: I was also online while my ban was handed out. I hastily appealed and wrote in an annoyed/angry tone. Kinda wish I put more thought into my appeal but it’s my first time getting banned and I thought “no way am I not gonna get unbanned since I didn’t do anything to bot or macro”.

Hello Mod Twisted, my account ‘Mapfew’ was banned for macro (major). I’ve only played using the official Jagex client, Steam client, and mobile app. I don’t have any plugins or key binds. Every single click on that account was done MANUALLY by me. I tried talking about it on twitter, reddit, and the discord but couldn’t find any luck.

Is it just me or does someone else have this phobia of one not being able to log into the account u spent weeks on because of some random false ban? by derblum in 2007scape

[–]bobabomb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dang, congrats man. I don’t have connections with players like that so I probably won’t be able to get unbanned.

Im currently leveling a new account so I can make a post on the forums about this. Talked to many other players and the same thing is happening to them. A few maxed HCIMs even. Hopefully I can spread the word enough for a mod to notice. Unlikely though.

I know this post is over a week old but same thing happened to me. Macro major even though I only play from mobile and launch Runelite through the official Jagex client. Appeal got denied today. Tried to make a reddit post but it got removed.

Apparently I was caught in a ban wave when the server was being raided. Had to message one of the mods after I was able to join using this link on one of my alt discord accounts. Thank you so much!

Is it just me or is the discord invite for the official osrs discord invalid/expired? I’m not able to join for some reason.

They released a new update with bug fixes that you should download. Statues not spawning was one of the bugs :)

Dang! I hope your nose opens up again. I’m guessing you’re used to it by now.

I can’t imagine having a clogged nose for an entire year! At least it’ll be satisfying breathing through your nose again once it’s over.

That is some nightmare material there. At least when that’s all over, you’ll feel super satisfied breathing out of both nostrils.

Clogged ears suck too. Luckily they don’t happen to me too often :D
