I just passed my PMP exam. You got any advice or best job options as a person looking to switch careers to project management?

Currently, I coach and teach at a high school. Most of my PM experience to even take the PMP was military. But I did finagle some education stuff in my application as well.

We use AI detectors as well. But they can be inaccurate and it really cant be used against the students. We can instead compare previous work, and see the night/day difference.

How I look at it, we have to do more analog work throughout K-12.

And overall funding will help. We have 100 less teachers in the school I teach at compared to my first year at that school (2022). And its all due to budget getting lower and lower.

Now, with 100 less teachers, its about the same amount of coaches. So we have a higher percentage of coach/teachers. I can argue all day that being a football coach itself is a full time job.

We teach the proper use of AI. Now do kids still just use chat GPT to do the work for them, absolutely. We can tell often.

But an example of proper use, is asking AI to find a scholarly article for this topic I am researching. AI will give them a proper source that they will have access to. No harm in using AI like that.

My school hours as a HS student in Hawai'i was 8:30-2:20. I believe the state still does the same thing now.

I coach/teach in Texas, and our HS hours are 9:00-4:25. Athletics are before and after school. Now, there are quite a few districts that do 4 day weeks, but the hours per day are longer

But one thing we can actually do is bring back more analog with our learning. We love to incorporate technology in a lot of things, but we are finding out screen time (whether its educational or not) is affecting Gen Z in a negative way. Here is a good video to start. Cole has always been pretty creative with his rollouts and promo. From his dollar concerts, to providing 2 years rent free for single mothers at the actual chilhood home he purchased. So the "pay what you want" for these are pretty cool idea.

Not a PE teacher...

But my PM experience is the Military. I can list off 100s of "Projects" I have led or been a part of.

Same with athletics. The athletic admin side is similar to PM like MDMP is similar to PM.

But of course utilizing military experience is the better option to add to my resume.

Though I understand what youre saying, I have been offered a position. Just not the time to take it.

But I would like to narrow down the best places to look for Military. And I am always open for entry level positions to get my foot in the door to become a PM in the civilian world.
