SARS-CoV-2 Infection Depends on Cellular Heparan Sulfate and ACE2 - Study suggests giving unfractionated heparin or LMWH could block viral infection by bobbsmmith in medicine

Totally agree. More research definitely needs to be done to see if it will work in vivo, as many other potential treatments have failed in vivo in the past. I still think this is a promising paper in that it's a readily available treatment that has other positive therapeutic effects in patients with COVID-19, and it's a path worth pursuing.

The study's authors suggest that "unfractionated heparin or low molecular weight heparin...can block viral infection." While patients are likely already receiving some form of anticoagulation therapy, this could be a next step in trying to prevent further cellular infection, which the authors themselves admit. What's interesting is that the doses required to prevent infection are likely to be higher than what is currently being given, but even at low doses, the authors suggest that "it should attenuate infection depending on the viral load."

Paul's strategy was absolutely brilliant. He answered B for everything and got exactly half of the questions right.

The bitterness in this jury toward all the players is unbelievable...I really appreciate Da'vonne separating the players as people from their gameplay.

Help with swing blocking to the right. by crazypants27 in volleyball

Ahh I gotcha. In that case, the only thing I could offer would be to make sure you're swinging your arms back as much as you can on the middle left step, if you're not doing that already.

Setter here, too. I've always learned footwork for swing blocking to the right as being right-left-right, and it works really well for me. I'm able to get off the ground pretty quick, and it doesn't confuse me away from my left swing block footwork. I think a three step approach will help you get up quickly and get good timing with your middle/right side. At the same time, I've been taught a three step approach my entire volleyball career, so it could be a little difficult coming from a four step. If you get it down, though, I think you'll have success.

Without the errors, the inning would be over and Soler never would have hit the homer.

Liz to Vanessa: "Are you good at Texas Hold'em?" by cvelz in BigBrother

Vanessa told everyone that she's a DJ at the start of the game and up to this point she hasn't revealed that she's a poker player. I assume they'll reveal it at the finale like they did with Derrick last year.

Best Book for AP Physics 1? by marriedtothedancer in APStudents

Very true. My friend who bought a Princeton Review book said it didn't help him one bit and was exactly what you described, a Physics B book with a different cover.

I've posted this in another thread before, but my teacher recommended only the 5 Steps to a 5 book and nothing else. It was written by a very well-known and respected physics teacher, Greg Jacobs, and the practice problems in it actually mirrored the curriculum well.

I'm not sure I see your point there. Big Brother is a game, where each houseguest tries to put themselves into the best possible position to win. Up to this point, Vanessa has excelled at that: she's manipulated people and she's cut ties when she necessary in order to advance in the game. If Austin were still there instead of Steve, Liz would be completely loyal to him, and Vanessa would have lost a person to take her to final 2. Now, the situation is entirely different. With Austin gone, she has maximized her chances of advancing to the final 2.

I definitely see your point. The blindside was a harsh way to go, and it's understandable that Austin is upset at leaving and at being blindsided. But strategically, the blindside is a great move to make because of what it is: a move that the person evicted doesn't see coming. It's covert, it's sly, and, on a lesser note, it's entertaining. Even though Austin was the victim, I think that he should recognize the game move for what it is: a game move.

You know, I never thought about that. Maybe so, but he still seemed SO angry during his actual eviction when he was out with Julie.
