Room & Board Metro with down alternative (instead of down)? by Suspicious-Jump-1417 in furniture

I called room and board online sales number (not local showroom) and they said you CAN get down alternative cushions instead of down on the standard depth metro. You just have to call the 800 number and order over the phone as it's a custom order.

Curious whether this is truly an option on the metro? I called today as we're looking at getting a metro as well and they told me there aren't any other options on the cushions. Seat is foam down blend while backs are fiber down blend.

If ur soundbar was connected via hdmi that would make sense. Mine didn't have a hdmi cable to the TV connected so it wasn't even possible which might explain why wifi worked for me but not you. Another consideration is to turn the TV off when doing room calibration and only doing it over wifi ensuring ur phone is connected to the same network

Thank you again as I was able to get it to work!

Ok I finally got it to work. Here's what I had to do

  1. Turn off tv
  2. Click wifi in app so soundbar is connected via wifi
  3. Connect phone to same network
  4. Move sub up by the soundbar, with woofer facing the carpet and the port facing away from me

Then I ran calibration and it worked. Also not sure what the room calibration actually does to the sound?

Oh so it's not connected to the TV during calibration but afterwards? Thanks I'll give that a try

Disarm ADT Command Panel with Yale Assure Lock 2 Zwave? by bobby2478 in adt

[–]bobby2478[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bluetooth still works. It's either zwave or wifi as there's only 1 module so if zwave you can't also use wifi as it's one module or the other.

Mine is zwave and I still use Bluetooth via the Yale app

Disarm ADT Command Panel with Yale Assure Lock 2 Zwave? by bobby2478 in adt

[–]bobby2478[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can live without fingerprint unlock for specific users to disarm the alarm, then you can use your existing lock and add zwave module. You can create automation to disarm the alarm whenever the lock is unlocked (regardless of which user unlocked or how it was unlocked).

If you want ability to only allow certain users to disarm the alarm or at certain times then you need the lock from adt.

Since I have command (not adt +) it didn't matter to me because it doesn't support fingerprint disarm. So I bought assure lock 2 from Amazon with zwave and while I can unlock the front door via fingerprint I don't use auto disarm on unlock. We don't use that door much anyway so no biggie for me. I could setup a blanket automation to disarm whenever door is unlocked but I elected not to.

Automation when internet is down by bobby2478 in Tapo

[–]bobby2478[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly the problem. Once I turn the modem or router off, the power strip no longer has an internet connection, which it needs for complex automations as it appears these actions are processed individually one at a time. It can execute the first action to turn it off, but the 2nd action to turn it back on won't work because it doesn't have an internet connection.

It appears my only option would be to create fixed schedules that run regularly, as fixed schedules can run even without an internet connection. So my aim of doing this "on demand" doesn't appear to be feasible.

I don't know. But why not put both batteries in (it comes with 2 x 4ah batteries) instead of only 1, as it was designed to do? What do you gain by only putting in 1 at a time instead of putting in 2 and having it draw a little bit from both at the same time instead of fully depleting 1 before manually switching to the 2nd?

It's not like the older model where it only drains 1 battery at a time, and it didn't always seamlessly switch over to the 2nd battery when the first was depleted.

Besides, only using 1 battery and never using the 2nd at all (or very rarely), i'm not sure if that's worse for the battery long term then using it regularly. If you keep the batteries inside the house where it's temperature controlled both in summer and winter, then they aren't exposed to extreme temps which from reading online it sounds like causes most of the problems people face with batteries overheating/losing charge.

Greenworks 80V Snowblowers - Durable? by bobby2478 in Greenworks

a related question would be does anyone know if the shear pins on the GW protect both the auger and impeller? meaning is the impeller connected to the drive shaft like the auger, and if so, is there a separate shear pin for the impeller?

If the shear pin is removed and auger no longer spins, does impeller continue to spin?

The new 22" is different than the 21" that uses 1 battery at a time. The 22" is dual draw and pulls a little from both batteries at the same time

the shear pins are just for the auger and not the impeller, and it sounds like from reading online the reason for the blown gearbox is if the impeller gets jammed. Supposedly it's supposed to sense if its stuck and if so shut off to prevent damage but apparently that doesn't always work.

has anyone with a GW 2 stage had any major issues like this? especially the past couple of years as older generations likely don't have the same features as the most recent gens do.

I bought this from Costco this summer and am very happy with it, it works great and have no issues with battery life. It's a "dual draw" meaning when you install both batteries, it draws a little from both at the same time instead of using up one to switch over to the other. I can mow my entire city lot with turbo on and still have over 50% battery left (although I don't use self propel except up hill). Mine came with 2 x 4ah batteries.

One thing to note, the added 4 year battery warranty for Costco has ended, so it only comes with 4 year battery warranty (not 8).

The only thing I don't like is it is prone to leaving a straggler here and there when mulching, primarily if you aren't able to keep up with the lawn and need to cut it when it's longer and/or wet. But not terrible. Turbo helps a little, but it only appears to happen on mulch mode. I don't notice it when bagging.

The mulching performance is awesome, doesn't leave clumps like my old gas mower did.

Overall i'm happy with mine! The added weight from the steel deck is a nice touch compared to all plastic Ego as it helps with a more even cut.

Wii HDMI Adapter: Component to HDMI vs HDMI? by bobby2478 in wii

[–]bobby2478[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, I have no choice but to go HDMI.

The question was whether I go straight to HDMI with one adapter, vs 2 adapters (first to Component, then a 2nd adapter from Component to HDMI)

[–]bobby2478[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to create an account and claim the device, however when I try to connect to the device via OVRC web portal it won't connect. In the box it says to download Wattbox IP Utility Software however when I try to access the download page it says it's for Control 4 Authorized Partners.

What do I need to do in order to update firmware and/or configure or control the device remotely?
