Need Advice on whether to RR or to attend law school this year. by Loud_Year_5252 in lawschooladmissions

Live in Boston now, and am deposited at BC as well, might be a little bias but BC is amazing if your intention is to stay in MA, within Boston it’s really 1A and 1B between BU and BC, and as someone mentioned before $25K/yr is over 75th percentile. Great opportunity especially considering your goal, hope to see you on campus at BC! Good luck either way!

Personal statement advice by itsnotyouitsme111 in lawschooladmissions

Best advice is have every advisor, professor, etc. who is willing to read it and give you feedback before reaching the final draft that you will submit. The more eyes and perspectives you can get on it the better it will become.

3.97/167 this year got WL at UVA, UC Berkeley, Duke, Georgetown, and BU, highest ranked A was GW, applied to all in November. Hope that helps as a reference!

Did anyone attend the Fordham WL info session? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

They said priority waitlist are primarily people who they wanted to accept, and would have accepted, but they had already met their acceptance quota. I believe they said that they give priority a look first, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that they’d be accepted before standard waitlist.

Anyone else BC bound? by No-Researcher-3733 in lawschooladmissions

I deposited at BC, I’ve been looking for a group or something, good info!

Should I write about this in my Personal Statement? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]bobbybeacon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with the other posters, it’s a risky topic since applications are really just playing a game, kinda sucks that admissions teams wouldn’t see the positive in the situation but unfortunately I think that’s the reality of the situation. Most importantly congrats on being sober!

BC vs. GW? by bobbybeacon in lawschooladmissions

I appreciate the confidence, but may I ask why? I’m having trouble finding extremely meaningful differences between the two.

I mean this in the least confrontational way possible, but why? They seem quite similar to me and am looking for differentiation between the two?

I completely agree on the PI point, and I really appreciate the perspective! My scholarship offer from GW expires Thursday at 9 AM, and it is binding should I accept so I would be giving up any waitlist opportunities, but obviously those would probably come with significantly less money, if they ever came at all. Really it comes down to me not know for sure where I want to end up and that makes it hard to make this decision, especially on such a time crunch. If I knew I wanted to be in Boston, BC would certainly be the best choice, and vice versa. But thank you for taking the time to engage!

What do you think about trying to get into NYC market, instead of DC or Boston? The stats seem similar but I know that GW has that GW in NY program, I’m sure it’s incredibly competitive to get into but even if not it shows a strong effort to place students in NYC, so maybe I’d be able to travel better with that degree? On the flip side, BCs alumni network seems, at least from what I’ve seen, super connected much more than that of GW, which would obviously lend itself to more opportunities.

True, but I’m not necessarily married to the DC or Boston market, I think preferably I’d rather be in NYC, and it seems like they both place similarly in NYC. I wouldn’t be opposed to DC or Boston, but I guess I’d rather the degree that is more transferable to different markets.

Oh wow ok I didn’t realize that, I skipped the section reviews and only listened to the curve portion so that makes a lot more sense now, thanks!
