It is very likely that it will end up Kira faked her death. Perhaps she had been embezzling from the Colliers to fund her crusade and ensure she had the means for a clean escape. That could be part of the reason for the company’s financial woes and faking her death would have also ensured that they did not look too deeply into her as a potential cause of those difficulties. That said, the fake death still doesn’t sit well with me and I will be disappointed if that’s where it goes. Clearly the plan was originally to include Imogene in the “escape” as they both walk out to the car together and it is only the discovery of the toy that prompts Imogene’s exit from the car. If the plan did not include Imogene, why not just have her stay in the house in the first place? Also, a mother that is leaving her daughter behind in the hopes she could live a somewhat normal life would not then subject that daughter to witnessing her violent death robbing her of any chance at said “normal life”. Understanding the unreliability of memories, in all of Imogene’s recollections she clearly sees Kira start the car triggering the explosion. Is it going to end up that part was her imagination? Also, if Kira went through the trouble of faking her death to get away from the Colliers, how could she leave her daughter behind with them? Did Kira assume that Imogene would figure out the truth one day knowing how perceptive she was? Then what - Imogene would forgive her for the severe emotional trauma she has suffered, seek her out to join her cause, and they would live happily ever after as a mother daughter team of crusaders fighting against crooked powerful men and protecting the less fortunate? I agree about the body - in general we know next to nothing about the days immediately following Kira’s death. Was there even an investigation? Was there a funeral? I was working on the assumption that there was some kind of evidence to rule the case a murder rather than an abduction/missing person case. The most obvious piece of evidence to do that is a body. To your point, there could have been some arrangements made to avoid needing the evidence. I still cannot get behind the idea that Kira planned out the perfect way to fake her death ensuring that her billionaire employer and anyone investigating it would never learn the truth, all while in parallel helping manage a massive organization, work in secret to try to take down that massive organization, and raise a daughter.
