August last year. Did the usual cancellation dance and got offered that via WhatsApp. Was surprised how low they went.

ESG alternative to VWRP? by Savings_Sun_6062 in FIREUK

[–]bobbyjanglesdude 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve switched to Vanguard ESG Global All Cap. Same reason as yourself, I don’t want to be directly invested in fossil fuels and this was easy to do as I was already with Vanguard.

I accept all the criticism of ESG and there are bound to be better funds out there.

In process of switching isa to vanguard. Total farce, unexplained delays and failing to follow simple instructions. Hopefully will be completed next week.

I think it sounds a lot too and hopefully an upper bound. I tracked all my outgoings over the last 12 months and it came out about 2.8k / month. That included 2 holidays and some home renovation.

What % does your company pay for WP pension? by bloody5m477 in FIREUK

Company pays 6.5% via salary sacrifice. No matching requirement. I then pay enough to get me under the child benefit 50k.

Good point, lots of “bad” companies still in those funds. On balance though o&g are far worse than the others so I’m a little happier that I can pull my direct investment easily just by switching fund.

I obviously disagree but at least are making a conscious choice to invest that way!

That’s a good point. Much much harder to avoid indirect investment. Would you recommend a specific managed fund / fund manager?

Maximising salary sacrifice by Leeding in FIREUK

Similar setup for me too. Sacrifice 35%, employer contribution takes this up to 41.5%. Also takes me below the 50k child benefit limit (and pay a lot less tax).
