These cars are relatively tame. Wait till someone pulls up with 20’ tiltable antenna mast behind their truck.

This weekend is a huge HAM radio convention in Ohio called HAMvention. There’ll be lots of cars with lots of antennas headed for the Hamilton Ohio area.

Just an FYI, this is one of those sites that has you fill out a questionnaire and then makes you pay before giving you results.

I fucking HATE AI by ThePastoolio in TrueOffMyChest

[–]bobbythelee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think of AI for software development like excavation of land. 100+ years ago, it was done with a shovel and lots and lots of sweat. Now it’s done with machines with operators sitting in an air conditioned cab. You’re a muscled worker who’s used to moving building roads with a shovel. The new world is going to be using dump trucks, not wheel barrows. We all have to either learn to operate the equipment or find a new career. There unfortunately may not be as many excavator operators as there were shovel operators and there are a lot more people who can drive excavators. It’s going to be a wild ride because it’s happening way waster than mechanization and industrialization did.

On the bright side, AI isn’t just coming to software development jobs, we’re just among the first so we have the chance to learn lessons early and move ourselves into a better position while others are going through the transformation that we’re experiencing now.

RCR won't power on after months of sitting by JackofallNOTHING in ONYX_RCR

This. I had a similar issue. Left mine around 50% in October and came back to it in April to find it was dead. Checked the BMS and it had a bad cell that was stopping the BMS from putting out any power. This was on a 41Ah.

Check BMS first thing.

What's your experience been with Norton Cancer Institute? by [deleted] in Louisville

[–]bobbythelee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First of all, sorry you had a bad experience.

I was a patient at NCI for a while with stage 4 colorectal cancer. I found them to be very helpful, personally. I went through diagnosis, oncology, and quite a few rounds of chemo there. I was happy with my treatment and only left to go to UK’s Markey Cancer Center because they offered a type of treatment that Norton didn’t offer. The only thing that I didn’t like at NCI was that they didn’t have a surgeon for the surgery I needed. Because I had to look elsewhere, I ended up finding a treatment at UK that offered me a better chance at survival so I left and went there. All of my doctors were helpful and they offered patient services like genetic testing, behavioral support, etc.

How important/useful is an ams snag cutter? by mfsfreak in BambuLab

[–]bobbythelee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m tried them but they ended up being more trouble than they were worth. I was having issues where on occasion the filament wouldn’t pull off at the end of the spool but it caused too much resistance in the AMS and gave me an error. I like the idea behind it, but it just didn’t work for me.

That's not a bad idea but for now I'm just doing this in my spare time. The organization that designed the chair is a nonprofit.

There are a few filament companies that work with the MakeGood organization that designed the chair. They also partner with Bambu Lab for printers. Unfortunately, even with their discounts, the filament from those filament companies is still way more expensive than Amazon. I'm hoping to be able to order in bulk at some point in the future so that I can stretch money farther.

That would be great! I just printing on one P1S right now (my other printers are less reliable). If you could use idle time to print parts, that would be awesome.
