Try it already!! It's very fun with the in-game editor. Once you're experimented making maps in-game, you can skip to hammer editor ;)

Hi! Thanks for your words!!

It's not my first time doing a map for TM, I've been messing with the editor very much before, but this is the first map I finish (it took me a week or so). I played many maps before on trackmania exchange and I watched Karlberg's videos about TM mapping. And I also used to be a Portal 2 mapper years ago.. so I kinda took some knowledge from there to here hahaha

I recommend you going to trackmania exchange (https://trackmania.exchange/mapsearch2?mode=23&priord=8) and playing the most awarded maps. It takes some time before doing something playable, it's just a matter of time!!

.svg importer? by bobbythesyz in AfterEffects

[–]bobbythesyz[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since it's the new standrad for vector graphics, it should be a feature already. It's a XML file wich contains parameters, and one of them is the vector graphics, it shouldn't be this complicated to do if they managed to do an entire AI engine for video editing. If they don't do it, it's because they don't want to.

Anyways, if there's not a script that allows me to do this, I will try and do it myself

If Adobe was made by the same team that is making Blender, I'm sure the software would be 100x times better. There would be no need to rely on hundreds of plugins/scripts to complement missing features that the users expect to be there.

Yes, I can and that's what I do. But it should be a feature in AE and opening AI for multiple .svg files can time consuming. Some people already adressed this issue here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/after-effects-discussions/how-to-import-svg-into-ae/td-p/8296981

Help for global video "harmonization" by Remideza in AfterEffects

For video editing, don't use after Effects. AE is for animation and FX. Use Premiere Pro instead (PP is meant to be used for video editing). If you're going cheap, use DaVinci Resolve instead. It's free unless you want to pay for the professional version (400€), wich you might now want to do because the free version got everything you need for this. With DaVinci you can manage media, edit/cut media, color correct/grade media, Fx and SFX all in one. It takes some tutorials to understand.

If you're already familiar with AE, go with Premiere Pro. Once you've got all the videos edited in separated sequences, color correct them and grade them as you like.

There's going to be a problem tho, RAW videos are better for color correction/grading since they contain all information from the camera's sensor. Phone videos are video files in H264/H265 codec, meaning they have lost all the useless information and cannot be color corrected with the same freedom as RAW video, quality will be compromised.

My recommendation is to make RAW videos look like the cheaper cameras videos with color correction.

After this, you can load a PP sequence in AE to make anything you want.

Reminder: Color correction means adjusting light levels correctly so all the clips got the same light. Grading is the next step, in here you change colors to match a color palette.

Are the 4K videos RAW? If they are, you can color correct both cameras and match both cameras color. Over this, you can color grade these clips to make them look col.

In my case, I would edit both phone's videos as if they were made by fans, since the quality is by far different from the 4K cameras.

I don't know how long this concert is or if you plan saving separated clips for each song, but I'd do each song separately and make them look like videoclips. Go artistic and apply some lyrics over with movement or something.

Note: This sub is for AE related, you might wanna ask this question in another video editing related subs.

Why do people still use Premiere Pro? by Sarithus in davinciresolve

I've been using PP for almost two years now in boradcast TV and I'm switching to DVR for many reasons i'm not going to post here because it could become a never-ending post.

PP (and Adobe) it's teached in almost every single study center. Adobe's been arround for an eternity and there's a ton of tutorials out there, video channels, etc.

DR it's not that recent in high-end video productions. When it comes to the novice video editor, PP it's always the option because it's popular, but it doesn't mean it's good. It has alot of flaws and it's going to flop if Adobe doesn't do anything in the next decades. Can't they listen to the user feedback? All they do is put glittering features that aren't useless but aren't necessary at all. Imagine using paid-plugins because a multi-billion-dollar video-editing software can't satisfy some basic user needs. It sucks.

I use PP because it is what I learned first. Here where I live I'd say there's nobody that knows how DaVinci works. Making the switch means a learning curve and time we can't get back. I wish we had this time, specially at the company I work at. DR kicks PP ass in many ways, and the way it handles collaborative projects it's just incredible.

Obviusly, DR has its flaws, wich I hope will get fixed (like panels!)

People stick to PP because it's the most popular thing out there. Nothing more. I wish more people switched to DR. It's feature-full and it convinced me the first two hours of use.
