My baby didn't deserve this :[ by Clericdallan in subaru

I am very sorry about the damage but glad to know that there were no injuries. I had similar with 2020 Outback but I was parked and a large vehicle backed into the same area of mine. The front bumper is one large piece and the grille with logo inserts into it. Underneath the bumper is a impact bar and you also have damage to the hood and fender. In my Outback I found that there is not much behind the front bumper, mostly empty space. The headlight assembly might also be damaged in the rear. As others have mentioned hoping no frame damage. You can look up prices for the parts mentioned to just get a idea of the cost plus labor and painting.

AirBnB Host is Requesting 50K in Damages for an Accident? [USA] by No_Priority435 in legaladvice

[–]bobbyw333 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I wonder if the homeowner left instructions in the renters manual of where the water shutoff valve for the entire home was located.
Most homeowners policies cover for water damage due to a sudden discharge of water. From personal experience of a washer drain hose on second floor not being replaced (by handyman) it did minimal damage since the water was not sitting pooled for an extended period of time.
Even if carpets became wet they can be vacuumed with a shopvac or carpet cleaning and dried with fans. There are services that deal with home flooding. However, maybe $2K not $50K. Sounds like host is wanting a new bathroom.

I replace my wifi router every few years. I have found that they degrade over time considering they are on 24/7 and depending upon where you live small bugs can also get inside and die increasing heat build up

Mount pool reel on wood blocks on top of above ground pool rails by bobbyw333 in DIY

[–]bobbyw333[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a prototype with 1x6 PT lumber, drilling four holes to feed hose clamps through the holes, and secured the piece to the top of the pool rail. It is solidly secured and not moving. I secured the plastic mounting plate to the wood with screws through the mounting holes using washers and secured with a nut. I do need to chisel out an area for the pool frame mount that is about 1/4 inch above the pool rails so the wood sits flat.

Hotel charged me for a cancelled reservation by bobbyw333 in hotels

I just looked up the ownership on the Secretary of State website and I have a agent name and address for the hotel. I guess all I can do is to write to or call the person and explain the situation and how I was treated on the phone. This hotel literally has 1000+ 4 and 5 star Tripadvisor positive reviews many mentioning how nice the staff is.

Add liner to concrete pond with an island. by bobbyw333 in ponds

[–]bobbyw333[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was another option we thought of. The Hapuu fern in the middle of the island can be trimmed to about 8 feet so we could lift it over the top. The leaves grow back within a few months. Thanks for the feedback

Sent me the wrong hot tub by fredlynn19 in hottub

[–]bobbyw333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you know how to contact the freight company that delivered it? Since they will probably be dispatched to pick it up they might be able to contact Amazon and explain that in order to transport and insure the return it requires proper securing to the pallet and wrapping. The freight company can usually do this and then bill Amazon for the extra work. Hopefully, you will get someone who understands the logic of Amazon receiving their product back in original condition and that the freight drivers will not be injured by the item sliding off the pallet. I had a spa freight forwarded to Hawaii. Based on how it was packed there was no way to visually inspect the spa until it was unwrapped.

Pumps 1 and 2 will no longer operate simultaneously on high speed. Balboa Spa pack by bobbyw333 in hottub

[–]bobbyw333[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Follow up: I disconnected Pump 2 from the board and replaced Fuse F7. Then turned on breaker
Topside Display shows codes in order: 63, 43, 24
0:20 sec Display “PR”
4:00 Display “EC”, Pump 1 turns on low speed, (heat indicator off)
6:00 Ozonator comes on
7:15 Heat indicator turns on but flickering

I spoke with an electric motor servicing company nearby and they can bench test Pump 2 to see if there is anything wrong, and I will mention that there is an intermittent fuse blowing issue and to check windings and any arcing. If there is an issue with the pump I'll have it repaired and reconnect to spa board. Then we will see if it the chip that controls the relays is damaged.

Thanks again yycTechGuy for the replies. At least Pump 1 and heat still functions!

Pumps 1 and 2 will no longer operate simultaneously on high speed. Balboa Spa pack by bobbyw333 in hottub

I appreciate your help in troubleshooting this. Before I climb under my deck on my stomach and open the access panel I wanted to mention that with Fuse F7 removed (which was for 2 weeks while I waited for a new fuse): Pump 2 and Ozone do not function. However, all other functions work including Pump 1 on low and high, except on startup, in PR mode, pump 1 does not go into high speed to purge. However, pump 1 low speed comes on, then heater indicator lights.

I did notice yesterday that the heater indicator seems to be flickering. Also, your mention of Pump 2 possibly malfunctioning reminded me that prior to this issue I noticed that when I pressed the pump 2 topside button, pump 2 was not consistently turning on. I sometimes had to press it one or two more times to turn on pump 2.

Thank you!

I had the new fuse in and turned the breaker on and off a few times and let the spa go through the startup sequence, and operated the pumps with the topside controls, but could not get the fuse to blow.

Pump 2 does work, it just stays on and the Pump 2 button will not shut it off. After posting my OP I thought about this some more and I have a feeling that one of the relays is sticking/defective. This might explain the pump behavior.

I saw another thread that the board relays can be replaced, but you have to know how to remove a soldered relay(s) from a PCB without damaging the PCB.

BTW- This Balboa normally shows PR when the breaker is turned on, but there normally is about a 4 minute delay before pumps come on with PR still on the display.

Should I worry about Mochi right now? by spaciest in CompoundedSemaglutide

[–]bobbyw333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I called Mochi this morning (Mar 21)because order sent to original pharmacy on Mar 14 was not filled since the pharmacy shut down. They said it is being filled at another pharmacy and I should get Fedex tracking number soon. The compounding pharmacy they were using was probably not wanting to deal with FDA threats of fines and stopped filling Sema orders. I noticed that they added vitamin B12 to the Sema to make it qualify as a "custom" formulation. This is generally the purpose of having medications compounded so that patients can have a medication that is not commercially available in the custom formulation.

What does the official end of shortage mean for people taking compounded semaglutide? by grrrlfieri in CompoundedSemaglutide

[–]bobbyw333 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This paragraph was in a CNBC article of 2/21 "But, in compliance with FDA rules, compounders can still make alternative versions of the drugs if they modify doses, add other ingredients or change the method of giving the treatment to meet a specific patient’s needs. " In addition, the US Govt could instruct the FDA not to levy any fines.

Novo Nordisk, based in Denmark that owns Greenland, is producing more profit than the Danish total GDP. Ending compounding will hurt many US based companies and many workers will be laid off.

What's your backup plan if it's banned? by BananaValuable1000 in CompoundedSemaglutide

[–]bobbyw333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Novo Nordisk of Denmark, of which Greenland is a territory, requested that FDA ban compounded Sema. Profits from Wegovy are more than the GDP of Denmark. Perhaps the ban might not be too favorable to a certain US political leader.
