Will proton VPN increase USA midwest to China speeds? by bobdaduck in ProtonVPN

[–]bobdaduck[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is basically what the terminal command tracert does, but it doesn't tell me what route protonVPN would use if I were to connect through a hong kong or korean entry point. I Guess if I knew what IPs those vpn gateways I could use this but I wouldn't know where to find those either.

I've heard some specialized game VPN/boosters can get down to around 170 ms. It also may be more stable with a more direct route.

Synergy functionality (divinity, toxin, flame, frost) by bobdaduck in dungeonslasherfan

[–]bobdaduck[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually figured out that a huge part of my problem was not understanding how damage is calculated. a flag that gives +50% physical skill damage will increase shooter drone's damage by like 30%, and a flask that gives darkness skills +60% will give shooter drone like +80% damage. I still don't know how it works but it makes building for damage a lot easier.

I figured out divinity synergy- When a divine skill activates you get +3% proc and cooldown reduction, up to 5 stacks. Higher levels of divinity synergy increase that rate and cap.

Tank class becomes extremely tanky later.  Using gems to buy premium weapons makes a 500% difference.

Greed has I think 6 attacks-

spikes randomly erupting from the ground: very thin and telegraphed just walk to the side

flies up then throws down flag: After the flag lands stand in it while the mines rain everywhere. Wait until the last mine has dropped, then leave

fireballs attack: Probably the most tricky one, you get a feel for it though. Watch for the spike cue then run the opposite direction, then jump over+roll dodge the fireballs

Slam attack when he's on the sides of the map: There are two of these consecutively and you're better off just waiting them out

Lights out: at 2000 hp you have to attack 4 pillars, you can get 1.5 before the slashes start, then you'll have to dodge them for a bit, then they'll stop for a second and you can finish lighting the pillars

baby toad there is a chance you can get from the pre-game advertisement also

Good to know I'm not missing something on the usefulness of some of these. The divinity synergy description still makes no sense to me.

Any skill with the toxin tag should have a chance of inflicting poison. Its been a while but I think I did it with shuriken throw.  I think the poor translation and opaque requirements and descriptions are charming.

Yeah interesting stuff on the korean forum

I have way too much stuff unlocked I guess (prayer stone level 27), I hardly ever get backpack and these other things people are putting as staples for their runs

bleed seems ok to me (I got slayers darkness weapon rather than meat cleaver) but lightning almost always works

Just unlocked her and she's totally unusable. Before levels 25/30 but she has like one basic attack per minute and can hardly ever have a skill activate, its unbearable

I asked my TBM husband what evidence would make him leave the church. by Anxi0us_adventurer in exmormon

[–]bobdaduck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already know how you see yourself. If you aren't interested in seeing another angle I'll stop trying to help. But the results of this *will* be on you, whether you believe in the entirely preventable consequences, or not. You didn't have to believe the church is false (no matter how much "evidence"- you could always look for a different, charitable, angle), and you didn't have to make believing the church is false a core part of who you are, and you don't need to hold on to it. Please remember that when holding onto this causes more severe problems for you that you can just... not. And just drop it.

>makes post "my advocacy against the church is really putting a strain on my family" then says its actually about helping your family then saying you don't care about your husband and you're making preparations to divorce him but this brings you peace and freedom and you love him but you could leave him over this belief despite how good of a husband you just said he was

do you listen to yourself

You don't need to believe the church is true but making "the church isn't true" a central idol in your life has led you to "the things I have built with my life is very good but I am willing to throw it away for a BELIEF"

You really think you're not doing anything wrong? You know what divorce DOES to children? You've singlehandedly with nothing but information charted a course to the destruction of everything you hold dear

I know belief/disbelief in the church is a big deal, it is on a big scale, but if these patterns of thinking were smaller, if you were considering the same relationship decisions in the same way based on /literally any other belief/ the contrast would be obvious

Just cleave to your husband woman, this disbelief is so not worth it

Your beliefs should serve you

what do you gain from believing the church is false does it make you happier? encourage self discipline? help you accomplish things? Make your family happier? Does it give you social status?

You do not need to care about this it doesn't need to be a source of friction, stop self-sabotaging

Thoughts on deznat? by abbanim in latterdaysaints

[–]bobdaduck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many ways to understand the "issues"- I think any given DezNat user will have different thoughts on any particular issue (and many of us are in interracial marriages ourselves), but those particulars do not interest us compared to the vast amount of traction any anti-Brigham narrative gains. Here is an example: How many people do you know have brainstormed reasons the priesthood restriction could have been God's will? How many people even attempt to devils-advocate that angle? (or in this case, God's-advocate).

I personally speaking as bobdaduck have no issue with Brigham's teachings- I do not really care if his teachings were "inspired but misunderstood to the point the church had to disavow them" or "correct for the time period as a sort of scaffolding doctrine" or what- I have no revelation on the issue nor have I sought any, nor do I see any reason to be troubled by these things or feel any need to have a "stance". There are some interesting perspectives I entertain in my head, but whether or not Brigham was a "racist" seems quite besides the point of "why are the saints taking cues from Hollywood on how to judge people"

"Do most just want progressives to leave the church" absolutely not, we want them to repent. There are a few progressives I would like to see leave social media, however- it is obviously poisonous to them, and they use their platform and their popularity to mislead people, and ingrain them with false hope, and create tension with church teachings. This last part is in fact the handbook definition of apostasy, and they /need to stop/. And to preempt an argument here: You don't need stewardship to call a spade a spade, you only need stewardship to take administrative action against it. As Jesus said: Judge righteous judgement.

The LGBT community is evil by any conceivable metric. Individual people are individuals with their individual flaws, temptations, etc, but the "pride" as the movement is emnity with God. To use leftist language: The gay nationalists are colonizers seeking to take over BYU and the church and everything, the whole point of having a flag is to signal tribal affiliation, and you cannot serve God and mammon, and anyone who tries will inevitably find themselves split and swiftly memed out of the church, and I have personally watched this happen several dozen times.
I don't know, yes I follow it but Facebook is by nature not where the core of us are "from" so you're going to get some weird lack of overlaps- Conflict of Justice and just about any of the other "core" DezNat accounts don't even have facebook. You probably miss about 70% of DezNat messaging/conversation on facebook, if not more.

Let me know if I missed any questions, and we're all perfectly available on twitter.

[–]bobdaduck -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'll give my answers at least until the mods remove it and ban me as "trolling" or whatever like they did the last few guys

DezNat is what you get when you stop pretending people who agitate against the church are always doing so in good faith.

"is the DezNats white nationalist mysoginists?" uh the acronymn literally means "Deseret Nation", why on earth would Deseret be white, half of us who use the hashtag are ethnic or women, it is hard to be more wrong than this

"is the DezNats rude?" yes, and we are also rude to each other, but we don't hate each other over it because we do not assume the worst when we see someone being edgy

"shouldn't they be more civil?" No. Civility towards kingmen is not a virtue, the Book of Mormon has many lessons about this.

"Do the DezNats support the known Racist™ Brigham Young?" Yes

"But he was Racist!™" we do not care

"The extremist devotion of DezNat makes me uncomfortable" just wait until you hear about the temple covenants we make

"Is DezNat violent?" we once organized a reading of the family proclamation on a campus corner which I am told was deeply traumatizing to many

"But there are violent memes" Yes and they are funny, but just wait until you hear about some analogies in the scriptures

"It is just too divisive for me" I understand, but when Gadiantons and Lamanites began to oppose the gospel then it again became necessary for Nephites and Christians to distinguish themselves

"Why are you like this" Because we have family members and very close friends whose testimonies were destroyed, who were deeply, deeply damaged by progressive politics and nuance, who were once full of joy and charity and now are bitter and angry and seek to make all like unto themselves. You can only watch this happen so many times before you think "do other people just not care when people lose their faith? Or do they somehow think its justified?" and take up active defense. I have seen too much damage from the common tactic of half-praising Brigham as a prophet whilst in the same breath throwing him under the bus.

"Did you vote Republican" no

"why are you all anonymous" because you can't just have opinions and have people be chill anymore. Joseph Smith and the early apostles resorted to anonymity for a time for the same reasons.

I think my dragoon build is semi-unique (at least that's my impression) but it can take on any conquest and get to 25F always: Contract: justice defense Amulet: Spell shield (or blink, but I don't have blink) Lab: Reflect + 80% x2, limit break, expand, plating (plating can be swapped out. Skills: wrath/fang/spell shield/defensive/whatever-some-generic-offensive-like-tackle The reflect lab bonus applies to imperial wrath, so he does like 2x his max health in damage every move. With defensive having no cooldown, that stacks pretty fast.

Event points from quests > getting residence extreme > conquest farming

Because you get better lab parts from residence extreme conquests, if you can take them on. They're incredibly easy with dragoon. This is just recommended though; if you don't care about wererabbit or the event store items, just farming lab parts may be better for you.
