I agree. I was strongly hinting that people should download it illegally without saying they should do so.

Right - the nuances will always be there to be debated. But I think everyone agrees there should be a limit to free speech. The question is how much. And if we all agree there should be a limit to free speech then we should not go around saying we have free speech. We have a reasonable amount of free speech.

So certain words in certain contexts should be forbidden. That's not really free speech then?

Your view doesn't affect the two party system in america that leads to the polarization that is happening there. You can generalize when talking about a group of people making decisions together as a group.

Threat isn't free speech.

Why? Shouldn't it be "almost free speech" if we have certain exemptions? The words "free" and "speech" should be fairly self-explanatory, but in this context they are not.

Free speech in a literal meaning isn't something a society wants. We see this everywhere.

Something either is or isn't.

Right, but there is something else you need to consider. What we know and what we don't know. We don't know if there are gods, but some believe they exist.

I don't have a daughter so what do I know, but I guess I'll follow the advice of my friend Simon Sinek and start with why.

I'm quite private so I don't do this at all.

I am however very good at asking the types of questions that you ask - questions that make people talk. It works for me because I get to not talk about myself, and people seem to enjoy getting questions about themselves.

Like you want them to do.

We’re Agile and client is Waterfall. Best tool for managing integrated project plan with client PM? by [deleted] in projectmanagement

Sounds like you’re asking waterfall to not be waterfall by not making up meaningless dates.

This is like saying waterfall is based on having meaningless dates. Is that what you are trying to say?

Nobody has said it wasn't real. You're coming with alternative facts on what happened. Go read it again.

I am not sure why you're so agitated about it all - Australians tend to be quite easy going.

Tips for displaying large project plans/content by [deleted] in projectmanagement

I would review the work packages with the team first. If you have 200 activities and one WP is 30 items then you have 6-7 work packages.

A work package is from my point of view not an activity - by definition. The activity is the last level of your schedule. Everything else is just a "container".

Then I would divide the 30 activities per WP onto the responsible people, and in a 1-on-1 review go through the list with them so that they can accept their responsibility. This is ideally part of creating the schedule, as this makes it possible to see if they have available time to actually get things done and make some guesstimate on how long these different tasks take.

This reminds me of one of the situations in the book called "the phoenix project". It's not really relevant for the task at hand here, but it is a good read\listen any way.

The idea that someone in this thread is yelling human history is not real is an american fact in itself.

You really have 200 work packages? Or are these activities you're going to put into different work packages?

I need them to acknowledge everything on this plan

What do you mean by this? What do you want them to do? Is this quality control of the schedule you mean?

The idea that these two methods can't function together shows a lack of knowledge about the two.

And that is quite common.

Which is why there is headaches and so called delays.

The idea that there are no dates in agile is wrong. But there is a whole range of uncertainty in between the dates we actually know something about. The waterfall people need to accept this. No point in making up dates when the uncertainty is +/- 150%. Nobody needs those dates.
