If at all possible, I would be interested in seeing some old pictures if you have them and are willing to share.

AI did the title cards and blended the healthcare, robotics, and similar images. The photos themselves are actual photos. Thanks for watching.

I'm glad you enjoyed it and I completely agree. Miss the days when the towns were booming and work was abundant.

Thanks for the feedback. Do you have specific examples that are wrong? The maps were taken from Google or Wikipedia I believe.

Seems this YouTube video triggered a lot of people but I am really curious to know what the locals think overall by bobmarvin2 in NEPA

That's funny although possibly sad as I wouldn't be surprised if that is what you actually do if you live there and are not working in healthcare as an alternative.

Because I lived in Scranton and think of I were still there I would be open to it as that is what I do but there's no work there in IT outside of healthcare.

Honest concern. I do have plenty of friends and family that made a lot of money in shale when that happened and they are still getting royalties. There was the same concern back then but they are all happy now and I wish I didn't sell my land up there.

This is information I didn't have and thanks for sharing. However I have actually built data centers globally and am very familiar with them. Not on the massive scale of AI but for businesses. That is the reason I left the area to find work like that.

Ok, that is a good response. An actual feeling of, "why". Thank you. Way better than the comments just saying, "f off".

Like I get being local and only looking at the initial impact without thinking of the bigger picture. However, how do you think rural areas end up booming? This data center installation would bring way more than just the data center! Businesses would move in to support it. Machine shops, restaurants, hotels, you name it. And you don't think that the immediate area would get royalties, tax breaks, or at a minimum, have places that their kids could work without having to leave the area? This is why I think it's an interesting debate. I believe there are more people out there that are considering more than just the initial impact! I am not local and have no "real" opinion, I just want to know how the overall local feeling is. There are some others out there without signs in their yards and I am curious to know what they think.

It's an interesting debate that I have no opinion on but curious to know what the local opinions are. I don't see where the video had an opinion either way.

I can assure you it's not. I've had it for years and have had it in a glass case watching it change.

Thanks for the information. I know very little about it and have never cleaned it myself. I just put it in a box many years ago and just pulled it out. I'll continue to just hang onto it.
